anyone have an idea of where he could search for a solution?

Thanks Jay.

Here's the latest. Having put the my vpip qt feed entry into
feedburner and running it through feed validator it seems to be
bouncing back with recurring feedburner links as follows;

http://
feeds.feedburner.com/~r/DannysContentment/~3/499334223/</
feedburner:origLink>

I'm seeing my feed but none of the video content, which is run through
blip tv on the show in a box spacey theme on WP self hosted.

Any help gratefully, gratefully received...!

Thanks,

Danny

vPIP takes the feed from http://www.dannyscontentment.net/rss2. When
I try to access http://www.dannyscontentment.net/rss2, it's forwarded
to http://feeds.feedburner.com/DannysContentment. Do you have
something setup to redirect your rss2 feed in Wordpress?

Thanks for looking Enric. I had the feedburner feedsmith
http://www.google.com/support/feedburner/bin/answer.py?answer=78483&topic=13252
plug in activated. I've deactivated it and the video is showing and
I'm back up with itunes. which is great! But I'm still having problems
trying to access my feed and it wont show up when I click on my
firefox feed reader. I'm getting this;
http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/DannysContentment/~3/500784028/

I originated my vlog a few years back on typepad with the feed
http://dannyfleet.blogs.com/dannys_contentment/rss.xml. Following
freevlogs instructions I moved onto feedburner with
http://feeds.feedburner.com/DannysContentment. I've been trying to
keep my subscribers with me in the move which is why I'm redirecting
http://www.dannyscontentment.net/rss2 to feedburner with the plug in.

Since moving over to wordpress and vpip I've (obviously) struggled to
keep my many feed addresses in order!

Thanks for looking.

You know what. Scrub that. Its working! For which I am eternally
grateful to you all and can now get back to the bit I love - shooting
and uploading stuff. But i have a question. If I dont have the
feedburner plug in activated, and I am using the vpip feed
instructions, am i going to be keeping my original subscribers or will
they not be getting my feedburner updates if I am using
http://www.dannyscontentment.net/rss2

Happy new year all!
Thanks again,

Danny.

Sorry, I don't know a lot about feeds and feedburner. I would think
there's a way to route new videos to subscribers of
http://dannyfleet.blogs.com/dannys_contentment/rss.xml. I recommend
posting on the Feedburner Help Group: http://groups.google.com/group/feedburner
.

you can plug in any feed to feedburner
so you can use your vpip feeds in feedburner
so anyone subscribed to http://feeds.feedburner.com/DannysContentment
will get any thing you put in there
feedburner is great like that because it's like a referrer/mask in a way
so anytime you change your feed for any reason
people stay subscribed to you no matter what

does that make sense?

In other words, go to feedburner and edit your feed source, changing it to your vPIP feed. People who subscribed to http://feeds.feedburner.com/Danny'sContentment/ via feedburner shouldn't notice any difference. You can also remove links to the wordpress feed from your site and replace them with the feedburner link.

You just have to keep the flow straight. Your current vlog generates your source feed, be that typepad or blogger or wordpress. You tell feedburner where the source feed is and provide people your feedburner feed link. They subscribe. Anytime you change sources, you tell feedburner the new source. The feedburner subscribe link stays the same & picks up your new source.

I don't know if that is any clearer than the way Ryanne said it, but sometimes it helps to hear it more than one way.

thanks cheryl!

Thanks Ryanne/Cheryl,

Almost clear on it..... are you saying that if I input the vpip source
code
http://www.dannyscontentment.net/wp-content/plugins/vPIP/vPIPFeed.php?blogURL=http://www.dannyscontentment.net&media=vs-title%3A+QuickTime
as my original feed for feedburner (as per ryans screencast) then
would feedburner still collect my http://dannyscontentment.net/?feed=rss2
wordpress feed address and subscribers? I thought I would need some
kind of redirect which is why I had the feedsmith plug in activated. I
cant see how that happens through the vpip feed code?

If there's a simple way of just using my feedburner address without
the plug in?

Thanks,
Danny.

Yep, I think a screen cast on Feedburner and rss would be great. For
some reason this particular topic still baffles me.

No, you got it. What you wrote is right. You don't need a Feedburner WordPress plugin like feedsmith. You just need to make sure any "subscribe" links are set to your official feedburner feed address.

If you take the code vPIP gives you (as you enclosed below) and put it into feedburner as your original feed, then you should be all set.

See, vPIP gets your http://dannyscontentment.net/?feed=rss2 and checks for QuickTime compatible files, and only includes the items in its feed that have QuickTime format attached. So that vPIP link you pasted wouldn't include flash-only posts, or WindowsMedia-only posts, but it'll get all posts with QuickTime files in them and put those files into your podcast. Into your feedburner feed.

You don't need a redirect because vPIP uses your WordPress feed, and then just adds its own magic to filter out posts without a podcast file in them.

So you're set.

I hope that made sense. It's late here.

Yes, that's right. Danny and I went over it in IM and he should be
