For the last few days, every time I try to download a video on youtube I get a "Could not get information" and "failed aggregating" error. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, Firefox 107.0 64-bit, licensed VDH 7.6.3a6 beta, CoApp
1.6.3. I downloaded this video without problems:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gRRO96U_H8

I downloaded the variant that I got by changing the resolution of the item (using the
gear icon in the YouTube player) to 1280x720@60fps. It played fine in VLC with both
video & audio. The only slightly anomalous occurrence was VDH logging 2 Short Content
errors. I don't know why this happens. It happens on every download I do off YouTube.
The downloads always succeed. I don't know what is triggering these errors but they are
noise. I always ignore them. If I'm really energetic, I delete them.

I also got this because the first one omitted some very important bits. Which I suppose
is to be expected of the home broadcaster, bunch of wankers:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnC1_KAfJaQ

Now it's your turn. The above is how you post a proper problem report. Without the
above information for your case, no one can possibly investigate your problem. So post a
proper problem report & we can take it from there.

Thanks. I'm running Windows 10 Home. 64-bit operating system. Firefox 107.0 (64-bit), licensed VDH 7.6.0. Whenever I try to download any video in 1080p, by clicking on the VDH logo in the extension section of the tool bar, I get two errors in quick successsion - the first is a "failed aggregating" error follows:

Failed aggregating "“She’s Great On A Boat” - Elizabeth Debicki On The Secret To Her Acting Success - YouTube"ffmpeg version n4.1.5-vdhcoapp Copyright (c) 2000-2020 the FFmpeg developers built with gcc 9.3-win32 (GCC) 20200320 configuration: --cross-prefix=x86_64-w64-mingw32- --sysroot=/usr/x86_64-w64-mingw32/ --extra-ldflags=-static-libgcc --target-os=mingw32 --arch=x86_64 --prefix=/home/mig/git/vdhcoapp/converter/src-build/win/64/converter-build --extra-version=vdhcoapp --extra-cflags=-I/home/mig/git/vdhcoapp/converter/src-build/win/64/deps/include --extra-ldflags='-static-libgcc -L/home/mig/git/vdhcoapp/converter/src-build/win/64/deps/lib -L/home/mig/git/vdhcoapp/converter/src-build/win/64/zlib' --extra-libs=-lpthread --pkg-config=/usr/bin/x86_64-w64-mingw32-pkg-config --enable-shared --enable-gpl --enable-pthreads --disable-w32threads --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopus --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-libwebp --enable-libx265 --enable-libxvid --enable-libx264 --enable-libaom --enable-avresample --disable-doc libavutil 56. 22.100 / 56. 22.100 libavcodec 58. 35.100 / 58. 35.100 libavformat 58. 20.100 / 58. 20.100 libavdevice 58. 5.100 / 58. 5.100 libavfilter 7. 40.101 / 7. 40.101 libavresample 4. 0. 0 / 4. 0. 0 libswscale 5. 3.100 / 5. 3.100 libswresample 3. 3.100 / 3. 3.100 libpostproc 55. 3.100 / 55. 3.100 C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\vdh-4784qMJ2DHqARbWq.tmp: Invalid data found when processing input

The second is a "could not get information from media" error as follows:

Different accounts? That may be the problem. Try it without being logged in.

Same here, since a few days download do not work.
If I logged out from YT it works, but if I logged in, it do not work.
At other Plattforms it works fine.

Thanks for reporting that. The more people who report that being logged out of YouTube
makes it work, the better. So log out of YouTube. That is the solution. Log out of
YouTube. I should add that I have been logged in to YouTube & been able to download
successfully with VDH. But I have a generic free Google account. The people who have
trouble have PAID accounts. This clearly makes utterly no sense. But there you go. You
have to log out. That's all there is to it. I suspect, and this is just a guess, that
when you are logged in, Google makes sure the content can be downloaded only by their
tools. I don't know what their tools are. I don't use Chrome. I've never tried to
discover a Chrome tool (an extension or something else) that downloads from YouTube. I
would guess something exists but I have never researched it & never intend to since I use
Firefox. I suggest you investigate the possibilities. I have to assume Google provides
its own tool for downloading from YouTube. They have imposed the restriction that no
third party tool on the Chrome store is permitted to download from YouTube. So it is a
condition of carrying VDH on the Chrome store that VDH for Chrome does not download from
YouTube. If you want to download from YouTube with VDH, do it on Firefox or Edge. I
don't know why those platforms can download from YouTube . . . so long as you are not
logged into a paid account. But they do. So just log out & don't question it. For
content that you can't see unless you are logged in, I don't know what you have to do. I
rented something on YouTube a few months ago & I used OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to
record it instead of download it. So if you can't find an authorized tool to download
something on YouTube that is behind a user ID & password, use a screen recording
application (like OBS). Fortunately, nearly all content on YouTube is available without
being logged on. So don't be logged on.

No, it doesn't make any sense.  They make it an "unofficial policy" that if you pay for an account, you can download (meaning you give them money so they can pay for more routers/bandwidth/etc - and probably give some of it to Xfinity and such to upgrade the "last-mile" pipes..) - people will figure it out, and they will make even more money..  Everyone wins.  (And technology advances - which is also good for everybody - eventually..)

Google, you listening?  You people *like* making money, don't you?

Don't matter if I'm logged on or off.  All YT downloads fail with "failed aggregating".  I even tried the video you posted earlier.  So no, it has nothing to do with paid or unpaid, logged on or
off.

Yes, the situation has changed. We should probably keep the conversation going over
here:

This thread has retroactively become a duplicate of that other one.
