VDH becomes unusable

Hello,

A week ago everything was Ok.

When I tried today, I see the performance of the VDH completely degraded ... to the point that it becomes unusable:

• when clicking on the VDH icon, a lot of different streams are displayed. About half of them without features (i.e. video resolution, size, time), so it's difficult to select a stream
• some streams aren't processed, meaning that if I select a stream (clicking on it) nothing happens
  
• when stream is downloading, the indicator of downloading progress doesn't work
•  downloaded streams have no audio

What happens ?

I have no this option.

What I actually see is:

and option (video with unknown features) doesn't progress:

A week ago, I was able to download 1280x720 videos with built-in audio without any problem.
Also, it was easy to select the feed, as all the features of the feed were shown in VDH.
What has changed from what it was a week ago?

Is it the ARTE channel, which changed their streaming options?

P.S. Another observation: the downloaded video (the one which is without sound) shows other signs of "non-perfection" ... you cannot move the time slider, the total time is not displayed in Windows Explorer.

I checked another site - and there everything is normal, as before.
It is therefore the ARTE channel that has changed its streaming options.
Is there any workaround.

arte may have change protections on some videos.

do you have checked the "HLS as M2TS" option in settings ?

Sorry, don't understand what you mean.

Did you manage to get in some way a 1280x720 video with ARTE audio.

If yes, what streams did you use for that.

No Pavel.  You are wrong.  In Jerome's most recent post he shows one variant that is 653.4M that is the video.  In your post you are showing the same variant of 653.4M.  It's the same one.  Try downloading it.  Also, in Jerome's most recent post he shows one variant that is 40M that is the audio.  In your post you are showing the same variant of 40M.  It's the same one.  Try downloading it.  Then you can play the 2 files synchronously in VLC.  If you really must have the audio & the video in the same file, you can use the VDH tool that merges audio & video files.  But that tool is not available in VDH 7.3.9.  You must upgrade to either the just released VDH 7.4.0 or get the version 7.4.0a1 that was released several months ago.

Hi Wild Willy,

Finally I found how to select two streams (1280 video and audio).

Now the problem only arises for videos with subtitles.

For example for this one.

The language of the film is Korean, so without subtitles not possible to watch.

Non, désolé.  Quand j'y rends visite, la page me donne l'avis un peu attendu que la vidéo n'est pas disponible dans mon pays.  Mais il y a ici dans ce forum au moins deux autres membres qui ont trouvé des solutions pour télécharger des sous-titres avec des vidéos de ce site web.  Peut-être ils peuvent venir ici en aide.  L'autre conversation se trouve ici:

J'imagine que c'est possible que ta vidéo coréenne d'a pas de sous-titres, alors ce serait du temps perdu d'en chercher.  Mais peut-être nos amis David et Michèle peuvent examiner cette vidéo et découvrir si les sous-titres existent pour ta vidéo.  Bonne chance!

Non, désolé de nouveau.  Cette vidéo non plus n'est pas disponible chez moi.  Il s'agit du site web Arte.  C'est en France et leur contenu n'est pas disponible ailleurs qu'en France.  Pourquoi pensais-tu que j'aurais pu le lire?  Je t'assure que ce n'est pas le cas.

Je ne suis pas en France, mais je peux regarder certaines émissions (pas toutes).
Au fait, ARTE est bi-canal (FRA-ALM) et je pense qu'il est disponible dans d'autres pays de l'Union européenne comme l'Autriche, la Belgique ... et bien sûr, l'Allemagne.

Bon, je croyais qu'il n'y avait que deux classes de citoyens mais il semble qu'il y en a trois.  La première classe son ceux qui se trouve en France.  Tu es parmi la deuxième classe, ceux qui ne sont pas en France mais sont dans l'Union euopéenne.  Pour nous qui sont ailleurs au monde, nous sommes de la troisème classe.  Quoi?  Égalité?  Fraternité?
