First, I changed the resolution of the clip from the default to 1920x1080 using the
techniques I describe here:
https://groups.google.com/g/video-downloadhelper-q-and-a/c/zW_fNhqqYVs
Then I downloaded that MKV. I did not do a Download & Convert because I wanted to make
sure I could get the clip first. I did & it played just fine in VLC, video & audio all
the way from beginning to end, which I verified by skipping through the clip & sampling
it at random points, including the last few seconds.
Then I used the VDH convert local file function to turn it into an MP4. That worked as
well. The input MKV was nearly 600M & the output MP4 was just over 700M. The conversion
took about an hour using nearly 100% of my quad CPU. Conversion is CPU intensive . . .
he said, in a massive understatement. Nevertheless, the rest of my system continued to
be responsive throughout that time. Once the conversion finally completed, the resulting
MP4 played fine, with both video & audio, as well.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, Firefox 88.0.1 64-bit, licensed VDH 7.4.0a1 beta
(equivalent to the general availability release), CoApp 1.6.2.
Have you tried this more than once?
