YT download fails. Could not get information from media... the file might be corrupted.

Hello. I'm no longer able to complete a download from YouTube. Would appreciate help debugging the problem.
Symptom: Every attempt leads to the error, "Could not get information from media... the file might be corrupted."

Video DownloadHelper: 7.6.6
CoApp: 1.6.3
Browser: FireFox 113.0.2 (64-bit)

Platform: Windows 10 x64

This is a 1920x1080 WEBM file.

Fixes attempted: Logged out of YouTube. Then logged back in. Did not fix the problem. Cleared browser cache (webpage cache, not the cookies). Also did not the problem.

For me the fix was to stop trying to download from the same Youtube (Google) account.  I opened a brand new account and VDH downloads from there okay.  I can similarly download successfully when I am signed out from Youtube (Google) altogether.  It would appear as though Youtube recently did a sweep through all the accounts that triggered some kind of threshold for who knows what, and then imposed background download restrictions on these targeted accounts by messing up the stream somehow.  But it's the account that's the problem now, not VDH or Firefox or Youtube itself.  Hope this helps.

I see it failing like Tigeril said and not even signed into account. Looks like YouTube did a change in the background to stop downloading.

After logging in here to post I tried again & it worked, so that is that is unusual. I'm not licensed with VDH so I avoid using it on YouTube.

Although it used to offer mp4 downloads years ago that we could avoid variants of adp and webm.

All these reports have me waiting for the other shoe to drop. I continue to not see this
problem. I tested again with the link provided by Tigeril & it worked fine. VDH
downloaded the 1920x1080 variant for me without a hitch. As usual, the download lasted
about half the duration of the clip. This one is 9:41 & my download lasted about 5
minutes, right on target. VLC played it just fine. I was not logged into Google/YouTube
at the time.

You might want to go read that one for background information.

All these reports have me expecting I will eventually see the same problem so many others
seem to be having. I don't know if I might be immune because I have never had a paying
Google account. You know I'll post about it should VDH quit downloading from YouTube for
me. But for the time being, being logged out of YouTube seems to be the universal
solution. Mike's answer worked for him & might work for others. I think his solution
might not be permanent, that at some futurre date, even the new paid Google ID will start
experiencing the current problem again. But I am just guessing. I'm making a
prediction. The future almost never pans out the way you expect. So only time will tell
whether his approcah will be a permanent solution. It sounds to me like trying what he
says couldn't hurt.

@Mike, you nailed it. After a week of failures, I simply logged out and tried again while still logged out. Worked fine. @Wild Willy, I expect you and/or others will see see this soon if you download enough. Thanks ALL for your feedback/suggestions. Consider this one closed.
