good morning, today video downloader has been updated to version 8.05. Ask for the license number. I bought the lifetime license a few years ago. Can you provide the number please?

right now, if not in one sitting, bit by bit over time. Bookmark it. For the present
issue, search for "lost" within the text of that web page. That tells you what to do.

Same issue here, i lost my  lifetime license after VDH 8.0.0.5 updated.

The same issue on Windows with Chrome this morning, attempted to recover license and got my license key OK and then register it, but the got:

License error
Attempting to use a disconnected port object

That's a new one for me.  Never seen that one.  First I would try registering the license again at least 3 times.  Then I would close all browser windows, then launch a new browser session, and try again.  If that fails, yes, I would reboot.  I hate that advice.  But in this case, my guess -- it's a guess, so take it for what it's worth -- is that there is some sort of network connectivity issue.  A reboot is an extreme last resort but it might clear this up.  If that fails, I'm out of ideas.  You'll have to find somebody smarter than I am to help you.

It seems I must point out again that I do not work for VDH. I am just another user, like
most people posting here. I do not respond to Reply to author requests. That button
sends me a private E-mail. That defeats the purpose of this forum. Use the Reply all
button to post your comments here where everybody can read them. I will then also
respond here in a post, not an E-mail.

Another one with the issue here

 License is not showing and it cannot be retrieved through https://www.downloadhelper.net/recover-license    because I presume most of us got it from the Chrome Web Store a few years back. 

This same issue happened a few years back, too.

I have purchased multiple licenses(Chrome with Firefox), but when I use the recover license link, it only every returns the one Firefox license. How do I get to my Chrome  licenses  ?

Jasper, this is a known problem. The only way to deal with it is to contact Jérôme
directly. His E-mail address is in the same thread whose URL I've just given.

Thanks for your help Wild Willy, I searched the forum and read the threads about revalidating the license. It appears the the button for "Recheck License" has disappeared. This only seems to effect users who brought VDH extension through Google Web Store (lifetime license) and the license is held by Google, you can't recover through a email as you purchased this when logged into your Google account and Google back then never sent a email confirming your purchased, from what I've found. Hope that makes sense. I think I will just have to wait for a fix. :)

Tony, do what Jasper did. E-mail Jérôme. Don't wait for a fix. This isn't a product
bug. This is a license issue. Jérôme is the guy who handles all these cases. E-mail
him with as much information as you can about your case. If you had a valid lifetime
license, he will give you a new one that works with Chrome today.

No button for rechecking the license . . . Interesting. I have that button.. But then,
I'm using Firefox. I've never used Chrome. Maybe a Chrome user can chime in here &
explain that one.

Hello Wild Willy, If Jérome is the only person in the world who can solve the problem of hundreds (thousands?) of licenses lost with the new version of VDH, we are not ready to recover them! For my part, I wrote to him at 6 p.m., it's now 10:30 p.m.: I imagine he's overwhelmed, but 4:30 a.m. wait at web time is an eternity ;-)!

You all need to be patient.  Yes, Jérôme is the only one who deals with this stuff.  It's unfortunate that things have blown up at the moment.  If my advice above to search for "lost" within that web page does not work, and it should in most cases, then you'll just have to wait for Jérôme to plow through his backlog.  Remember, he is in France so take the difference in time zones into account when you think about how long it will take for him to respond to you.  But first, you need to follow my advice above about looking for "lost" in that web page.  Do that.  Don't ignore that.  Do that.  Only if that doesn't help you, E-mail Jérôme.
