Guys,

A few of us met on the weekend, and took the following decisions on the
unconference book.

  - We will be meeting this weekend and writing a 500 word synopsis for
  each chapter of the book.
  - We will be shifting the platform of the book from a Wiki format to
Google Docs. Each chapter will be open only to the contributors of the
chapter, until the chapter is completely ready.
  - As before, an individual will take ownership of 1 0r 2 chapters and
collaborate with others by asking them for specifics.( Eg. Please write for
me a 100 word brief on xxxxx)
  - The book will have guest essays, written by some of the leading
lights from the International tech scene. The essays will be requested for
by giving the guests a specific topic and a specific word limit.
  - The book will not be compromised upon in terms of quality - will
contain a brief photo feature in the middle of the book and will also be
added more flavor to with the help of cartoons and sketches.
  - We will look at completing the book within the next 1 month.

I do realize, that we have had a number of passive readers on this group.
Therefore, I request any of you who are keen on contributing to the book,to
come for the meeting this weekend or  write in to me so that we can mutually
decide upon how best you can contribute to the book.

If any of you know anyone else who has an interest in this book, and would
like to contribute - please do invite him for our satuday meeting as well.

Look forward to all of us becoming published writers

Cheers,

Sudhir

All,

I just added a chapter called "Un-conferencing in the Enterprise". I'm
still fathoming the various milestones for this book from the wiki.
However, I have started my research already. Let me know, if anybody
is interested in contributing for this chapter.

What this chapter is about?
An enterprise un-conference is something which is for the employees of
an organization and is not open to public (e.g. Yahoo Hackday had it's
own enterprise avatar before they did a similar thing in 2006 Oct for
the valley geeks).

This chapter is about (a) examples of several large organizations
successfully using un-conferences (b) How un-conferences can be used
for increasing productivity and learning in a large organization).

Is the book (and it's audience) going to value from this newly added
chapter?

Regards,
Indus
