With TVDB, they update TV Shows consistently, fixing errors, updating information.

TV Rename does a great job updating the filenames and NFO files when these changes are detected through a scan.

IS there anyway for TV Rename to update the existing artwork as well?

I am making this example up.

Monk S01E05 - The Cat

New scan says it is now Monk S01E05 - The Cat Burglar.

TV Rename will change it and the NFO file.

But Monk S01E05 - The Cat-poster.jpg does not get changed in that folder. Same is true for example Monk S01E05 - The Cat-fanart.jpg or Monk S01E05 - The Cat-thumb.jpg

I end up with lots of artwork I need to delete and re-download.

So can the 'companion files' in the tv show folder be changed as well?

I don't know about renaming of the image.  I'll have to look into that.  I think most players require that the image names must match the video name, but I could be wrong. I prefer to use text on my players rather than images.

Have you tried this for updating your images?

Ugh, I have posted twice today and none have shown up. Third time I hope.

My question is almost the same as this link on this site.

Do I just need to add .jpg for the artwork -poster.jpg and -fanart.jpg to re-named? And what have I not set that my nfo files are not being created or downloaded?

It certainly appears that way.  Give it a try.  As I said, I only deal with text, and so I've never personally had to do that.  If Sparky/(Mark/TV Rename/the author) says that's the way to go, it's hard to dispute that.  Let me know how it goes.

Well that apparently does not work. Neither does "Copy/Move files with same base name as video from search folders. I assume the latter since the graphics contain -thumb or -poster which are different from the base name. I did think on one thread Sparky suggested he would resolve that.

That is unfortunate because it does a great job moving converted files from one location to another. None does it better that I know of.
