This is only about Stewardship, Finances, tithing, giving, etc. Next time i see an outburst like this, i will be banning all those involved

We are on tithing stewardship since 2010. Have we not come to a conclusion? Tithing is not for the new testament church. Are we sure about this or are we going in circles?

Tithing can be done even now,but it much be free will.

Abraham and Jacob tithed before even the law was there.

The mosaic law tithing is the one that we should never do as it is the one that was abolished by Gal 5:4.

Free will tithing, which may not necessarily be per month or per any stipulated period is not bad(Abraham &Jjacob tithing).

God wants a cheerful giver

Thanks.

God love a cheerful giver!
Take note of the below, as God also like a Good Steward.
Remember below:
He who gives to the poor will not want.
Jesus answered him, If you would be perfect [that is, have that spiritual maturity which accompanies self-sacrificing character], go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; and come, be My disciple [side with My party and follow Me].
Luke 11:41
But [dedicate your inner self and] give as donations to the poor of those things which are within [of inward righteousness] and behold, everything is purified and clean for you.
 2 Corinthians 9:9
As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever!

Can someone explain to me this scripture and relate it to the nowadays proponents of tithing-Det14:22-26   or rather has there ever been a pastor instructing you to eat your tithe with your family?

14:22 You must be certain to tithe28 all the produce of your seed that comes from the field year after year. 14:23 In the presence of the Lord your God you must eat from the tithe of your grain, your new wine,29 your olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the place he chooses to locate his name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 14:24 When he30 blesses you, if the31 place where he chooses to locate his name is distant, 14:25 you may convert the tithe into money, secure the money,32 and travel to the place the Lord your God chooses for himself. 14:26 Then you may spend the money however you wish for cattle, sheep, wine, beer, or whatever you desire. You and your household may eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and enjoy it.

Tithing was a law.Meant to ensure enough food in the house of God for people who were doing services of purification in the house of God.An exercise which was very vital to bring man back to God.Which include burning of meat offerings for the Lod.This needed many people and the people needed food hence the importance of tithes.Without tithes they would vacate the work and the hse of God.
But now that the Lord Jesus died and ressurected,he became the lamp offering and hence there is no need for tithes to feed the so mentioned people.Remember ppaul said if you dont work, then dont eat.
Many people who wants to implement tithing are too greed to allow the tithers to also eat the tithe as was done when tithing was still a law.Tithing was just like circumcision. It was also tithing of agricultural produce and not money even though money was there during that time.

FREE WILL TITHES YES(AS DONE BY ABRAHAM&JACOB).Tithing as a law NO.

GET SURPORTING SCRIPTURES BELOW:(Copied&pasted for your convinience.)

Gal:5:1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.Ga:5:4: Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Ga:5:6: For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

"Mal:3:10: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, ...

Ne:10:38: And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure house.
Ne:10:39: For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the offering of the corn, of the new wine, and the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.

Ne:13:5: And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.

Ne:13:10: And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers, that did the work, were fled every one to his field.

Ne:12:45: And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
Ne:12:47: And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.

I agree...much appreciated ,however it does not seem biblical to attribute tithing of Abram and Jacob as “free-will”. First Abram’s tithing, the bible is not elaborative on this-though some researchers  attribute Abram’s tithing to the common Law of the land(Kings during his era)....And Jacob’s tithing-Please note that when he left Laban  he was rich, when he met his brother he was rich, but it is not mentioned that he indeed gave tithes...His tithes were more like a vow not a freewill....

But anyhow I agree with the rest of your response

Thanks

Abraham's tithing might have been according to the common Law of the land(Kings during his era),but according to the information available in the bible,Abraham's tithing was not monthly or regularly as was the case with the mosaic law tithing. We can actually learn a lot from Abraham 's tithing.Remember he tithed from the spoils of war,and not from his own belongings. At the same time on the Jacob's issue,i think you agree with me that a vow is actually a free will aspect. As you make it on your own accord and then fulfill it as per the word of God.

Thanks for your input.

DO YOU KNOW WHY THE APOSTLES DID NOT PREACH TITHING TO THE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST?
READ ACTS 15:28     I COPIED AND PASTED IT FOR YOUR CONVINIENCE.YOU ARE FREE TO USE YOUR OWN BIBLE.GET STARTED FROM VERSE 1.

YOU WILL SEE THAT TITHING IS NOT AMOUNG THE NECESSARY THINGS WHICH A CHRISTIAN NOW MUST BE FOCUSED ON.

Acts:15:1: And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
c:15:2: When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
Ac:15:3: And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
Ac:15:4: And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
Ac:15:5: But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
Ac:15:6: And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
Ac:15:7: And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Ac:15:10: Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Ac:15:11: But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Ac:15:22: Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
Ac:15:23: And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
Ac:15:24: Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
Ac:15:25: It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
Ac:15:26: Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ac:15:27: We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.
Ac:15:28: For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Ac:15:29: That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Ac:15:30: So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:
Ac:15:31: Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

Yeh!!!!Amen....I wish other pastors can  comprehend what we understand, wish we could have a platform where these bible truths can be debated/discussed(more like when Paul preached to Bereans who examined what he taught to see if its scriptural )-not in a manner to look down on others but with brotherly love, make them understand that through the blood of Christ we have attained “Eternal Life”

The other one I like its when people were placing their offerings before the feet of the apostles,Acts4:( For there was no one needy86 among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling87 them88 and bringing the proceeds from the sales 4:35 and placing them at the apostles’ feet. The proceeds89 were distributed to each, as anyone had need.)

Talking about equality in the church....(not an individual getting more rich and others getting more poorer)

God bless you

The Ultimate Freewill, Spirit-led Giving; Right after the Holy Spirit Manifested Himself Twice: The Perfect Examples
 Acts 2:1-47
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance….
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”  41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.  42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.  43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.  44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,  47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
 Acts 4:31-36
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. 32 Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.  33 And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.  34 Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,  35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. 36 And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus,  37 having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
Are today's Christians ready for this true kind of Spirit-led giving? We will be if we are truly filled with the Holy Spirit.
