TR, absolutely delightful to hear from you.  Very sorry you're not playing out anymore. One of my fondest memories of baste them is your duet with Michael Manring at bombs away and Corvallis all those years ago. Stay well and happy.

I don't play out live anymore. Last band was amazing, recordings, good
gigs, but ended due to cancer. (not mine!). I'm 60, 45 years of live is
enough. My spine hurts. Now I amuse myself and my Spotify listeners in the
studio with various low strings and vintage keyboard emulations (Rhodes,
Wurli, Hammond), still married to the drummer/engineer, living a light
migratory RV life between the Willamette Valley and the Arizona
Borderlands. Royalties and sales keep me in strings and rosin. I still have
the Zon Sonus fretless 5, the Bat Bass. www.trkelley.com for all the

I attended the New Jersey Symphony concert in New Brunswick yesterday and
the principal bassist Ha Young Jung left her axe stage front at
intermission so I got some nice pics. I'm fascinated looking at all the
venerable instruments that live on doing the only thing they were meant to
do. Playing some great music.

Still here! Living in Da Bronx, paying the rent (as I have been doing for
quite a while) with medical IT, but still playing quite a bit, Jazz
sessions, a few gigs per month, and getting back into more R&B with some
like-minded friends. I'll retire when I drop dead. I still have the
100-year-old no-name 7/8 string bass I got from my teacher John Neves in
Boston back in 1973, two Fodera AJ basses, and have just treated myself to
a MIJ '62 reissue Jazz Bass that I absolutely love. After playing boutique
stuff for a while I have realized just how much I liked my old Fenders, and
I'm back, baby! For amps, I have:
 
- Alembic F-2B, Sarno Octal V-8, and Wayne Jones preamps with Crown XLS
power amps
- an ancient Walter Woods 1200 watt head
- Wayne Jones integrated amp
 
...played through 1 or 2 Acme Low B-2s, and an Acoustic Image Clarus SL-2
head and Doubleshot cab for string bass.
