World Hash Events: December 2024

Greetings Hashers,

This has become a tradition, announcing the title of World's Oldest ACTIVE
Hasher, not necessarily making the announcement that we lost another one.
Received a report from the Syndey H3 that Bill "HANOI BILL" Newling, the
world's Oldest ACTIVE Hasher has passed away on 15 Oct. RIP. Bill was born
on 4 May 1929, he was 95, and had been hashing with the Sydney H3 (Posh
Hash) for many years.

I do not believe in mourning the loss, but rather celebrating the amazing
and long life . . . so here is to Hanoi Bill, may he be saving a cold beer
for all of us at the final circle.



Following up . . . unfortunately the previously announced top three are no
longer in contention. So unless there is an ACTIVE hasher out there born
before 9 May 1933, the oldest ACTIVE hasher is with the Brunei Hens and has
been hashing since it was founded back in 1966, Rajendar 'GLAMOUR' Kaur is
now 91.

Recently at PAN ASIA HASH 2024 in Malaysia, the Red Dress Run on Friday
afternoon garnered much more attention than it should have. On the bright

I was there, and to the best of my knowledge, nothing happened on the Friday
of the event. It was not until Saturday that the police arrived. On
Sunday, several police officers attended the hangover trail to see who and
what we are all about. No further issues were noted.
