To all you bikers, if you filled out the MSU rumble strip survey - Thank you! If you haven't, please do so ASAP. The survey closes this Sunday July 13th. Last I heard we had over 500 responses. That has blown away what MSU expected. But I am shooting for more than 1,000 responses.
Here's the survey - quick 5 to 10 minutes:

Some of you responded that you thought this survey was just for Michigan. Absolutely not the case - this survey is for the entire nation. We are working toward national rumble strip standards. Please fill out the survey no matter where you ride your bike. And please forward this email to everyone, every organization you belong to, that bikes on roads and wants to influence better safety infrastructure for our sport.
Here is a quick recap:
We are assisting with a rumble strip study with MSU. This pioneering work is studying the relationship with rumble strips and non-motorized vehicles. It is fantastically important and can help shape the rumble/mumble strip standards throughout the country for decades to come.
Road engineers predominantly focus on designs for vehicles. Understandably so. But roads are shared with more than just motor vehicles. And sometimes applications that work well for vehicles in a vacuum, cause much great risk and harm to both motorized and non-motorized travelers in reality.
My goal is to have more than 1,000 bikers fill it out. If everyone receiving this email today completed the survey then we’d meet that goal. But there are thousands of more bikers out there that you all know, who are affected by rumble/mumble strips. And I’d like to hear from them too. So maybe we could reach 10,000 bikers.
I know this fact. The more responses we can gather, the greater the impact of bikers voices in creating standards for shared road safety. Which means less accidents, less injuries, and less deaths.
If you bike, and you want a safer environment for all. Please do two things today. 1) take this survey. 2) share this email with your biking friends and ask them to take the survey.
One more time, here's the survey - MSU rumble strip survey:

This is a big deal for biking.
Thank you and please help.
