I have a couple DURO based questions:
1. Is it possible to access the serial stream from an application located on the Duro?
2. Is there a compiler (c preferred) already installed on the base image of the unit?
Thank you very much for your time.

Stephen,
Let me answer your questions.
1. yes it is possible to access the serial stream from an application located on the Duro. Please refer to the "building a sample daemon" instructions here: https://github.com/swift-nav/piksi_buildroot#building-the-sample-daemon The sample daemon uses the zeromq pubsub buses in order to access the "external" bus which is the SBP serial stream.
2. There is no compiler on the device itself, but the buildroot infrastructure to which I linked above allows you to cross compile applications for Piksi on your PC.
