Hello all, 

after that discussion  https://groups.google.com/g/subsurface-divelog/c/_xrdz_GkEOw I had a walk outside.  Meanwhile I tough ... may users may like that !

Along the years (started in 2008 to 2022) I built a complete « social media » web site for divers.  It has been all built in french, but most of it is already translated in english. I gave up from this project in 2022 but .... if you think Subsurface community may like it, it is still possible to reactivate the project and make it works with Subsurface.

For now it is for computer only, no « App ».

It includes: 

- wall

- logs

- search for buddy diver

- schools and their courses / activities

- subscription to course / activity for users

- dive sites  ... description, comments, rescue procedures

- messager

- bulletin board and discussion

All free.  NO add.  No personnal data. No sponsor.

If you think many users may use it, I can consider to reactivate it.

Definitely a good idea - you'll have to get it out there to figure out what it is that users like about it.

Maybe you could partner up with Doug, who has set up and is running scuba-sites.com (https://groups.google.com/g/subsurface-divelog/c/kvVToBQ0Zbs/m/C9Uk5-CsAAAJ). This is a 'social' site centered around divers sharing dive site information. What I like about his solution is that it integrates with Subsurface based on exporting / importing XML files.
