Hi, I'm brand new... ;-)
I have just transferred my logs from Cressi Donetello (via Goa scree) to the PC version of subsurface via the Bluetooth interface (but connected to the PC with a cable). the subsequent transfer to the cloud version (incl. iOS app) also worked. Direct import from the iOS app has not worked so far. I'll try something else here...
Now to my current question:
I saw that you can import existing dive site files. Since many dive sites are identical, the question arises whether there is a "public" dive site file from the Red Sea, for example, that I can import.

This is potentially a very interesting idea.I dive in South
Africa and Mozamique so know a fair number of reefs and inland
spots. However, I was on a business trip to Cancún, Mexico a few
weeks ago (ICANN conference). I would have loved to be able to
click on a map and then viewed perhaps an overview of what it
would be like to dive there, costs, equipment rental - etc. Best
option so far is Googling - but you don't always get a first hand
experience... just people trying to part your money away from you.

I am not aware that any of these lists offers an API that allows their data to be re-imported into Subsurface (as their business model normally capitalises on people browsing dive sites through their web interface), but I am also not sure that Subsurface would be adding a lot of value by starting one more of these crowdsourcing efforts.CheersMichael Keller

One thing it seems that '&' signs in the XML need to be replaced by & in the Export to allow proper formatting so they can be loaded into Subsurface. Maybe a change request :-O
