If you're not seeing the SoulseekQt UI text with Catalina's new dark mode, this build should fix it:

If no one runs into any problems with it I'll post it to the download page soon.

Right click on the app in your Applications folder in Finder and cllick open. Should give you the option to run it even without a valid certificate. New build looks great in dark mode.

Works for me and generally looks nice, except for the up/downloading pages. The blue and green text colours aren't working so well against the dark grey background.

i have mac os 10.9.5. and coud not install the latest slsk app. im with qt 2016.1.24 and it was working fine since about 2 weeks ago but then it start to abort all my downloads.

Works great for the most part; I really appreciate the update!  I'm having an issue with some clients trying to download files with characters that their filesystem doesn't support, and instead of renaming the file on their end or aborting, they just keep hammering until everything explodes in a giant fireball and I have to reboot my router and laptop.

One small niggle, which was also in the previous version: when I search for a term such as "madonna flac", the search tab which pops up seems to lose the first and last character of the search and it displays "adonna fla". The search still works so this is just a GUI issue. (This is not a space issue either as it happens even with one search tab).

I'm having a more major problem now.  I just noticed that the client has been consuming gigabytes of bandwidth, maxing out my 20mbit connection, but actual transfers are less than 100kb/s and aren't even completing, everything keeps aborting and retrying.  Is this a bug or some kind of DOS attack?  It's extra bad since I have to pay $3/gb for bandwidth, I would rather put that toward actual sharing and downloading.

I've noticed a problem which I never noticed on previous versions. Some connections from downloaders are very quickly bouncing between 'connecting' and 'aborted' (i.e. every second or so). This seems to be an endless loop for these particular users. At the same time, other downloaders are getting their files at high speed without issue. I can't say what the problem is but logging it in case it helps.

I am running SoulseekQT-2020-1-20 on a Macbook Pro, MacOS Mojave, Dark Mode.

I agree with one of the posts above, that the Transfers window is hard to see, because of the dark blue font color on the black background.  

In some previous versions, there was a dialogue in Options>General or Options>UI (I cannot remember which) where I could change the colors of the User Interface.  Is that option still available? If so, could someone please point me to that option? Thanks.

What works for me is going to the 'Downloading' folder and remove the troubled file. Then the transfer should start over without any problem.

This login I use for years and I never had problems with it always clicked and soulseek already opened agotra no longer recognizes.

I already deleted the previous version and installed the new one and none of it opens.

I also don't know how to change the password to see if it works.

The new build works and looks great but it has to have the disk image on my desktop to stay working (I like to have an empty desktop). I also have to approve it through my security settings every time I restart my computer. I guess I'm using the 2018 build until this one is solid. Thank you!

Try mounting the disk image, CMD+C on the .app, then CMD+V into your applications folder, sometimes macOS creates shortcuts instead of copying from disk images.

Hey there, having the same issue trying set up a new MacBook Air, the "New Build" seems to erase the first and last letter from the search, did you ever find a solution?

On 11.0.1 I'm getting a stall upon scrolling through a search window, locks up the program entirely. Have to Force Quit. Seems like Soulseek is broken on Big Sur. Any chance for a new build soon?

It's just a display issue.  When click on the arrow to do a research you see the complete term.

If anyone's interested I made a new macOS build with the following changes:

* Uses a new style that doesn't have the cut-off text problem in tab names

* Disables dark mode support for the app so it looks the same whether or not you have dark mode turned on

* Uses an updated developer certificate so hopefully it shouldn't complain about that anymore

Handy trick... hold down the 'control' key when opening Soulseek for the first time. You may need to do this twice to get to the 'open' option. Once it has been opened, it can be started normally from that point on.
