Hadn´t updated slsk for a while, just downloaded the lastest version and now I´m not able to replace the slsk icon displayed on the dock.
This used to work, but at least for me it´s not working anymore: http://www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/148
Any ideas?
Thanks

Just to clarify: The problem with slsk is that at soon as it opens, the dock icon gets replaced with the red bird and as soon as it get connected the blue bird appears again.
There is only one .icn file inside the app, I got thatone replaced but the other 2 seemed to be hardcoded on the app. That´s what it says on the link I posted above.
So the usual methods doesn´t work with slskqt.

Same issue. I've tried using an old version, as you mentioned, but it gets overridden nonetheless. I even tried going inside the app and removing an "iconengines" folder, to no avail. It drives me nuts! These hardcoded online/offline icons are unbelievably out-fashioned. The only workarounds that occur to me are to switch to iSoul's deprecated 2012 build, and run SoulseekQt on Parallels, neither of which is particularly appealing.

Please! Add an option to remove the online/offline display!

Has anybody managed to work out how to change the dock icon successfully? Since updating to Big Sur, the Soulseek icon looks even worse. I've found some nice ones here, but I just can't get this to work. Keeps changing to the ugly red/blue bird icon as soon as I open the app as described by siti.

I changed to Nicotine+ because of this and some other problems. It's not a native UI, but better suited for mac in my opinion. And the icon is customizable.

Thanks, Cristian. I'll give it a go. Do you know if possible to import your Soulseek info to Nicotine+? Such as wishlist, saved users, banned list etc?

Apparently not https://github.com/Nicotine-Plus/nicotine-plus/issues/673 Personally I just did all that manually after testing the app for a while and figuring out I actually wanted to switch to it. I recommend fiddling around with the settings to make it more mac-friendly.

Did anyone solve the icon problem? I just made my own icons for Soulseek that I wanted to share but stumbled on the same problem as in this topic.
I tried Nicotine+ and while it looks better it's quite sluggish so I preferer the original client.

Here a work in progress of my icons.
