Leo van de Pas (at
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.php?personID=I00174674&tree=LEO)
shows Adelaide as the dau. of Guillaume VI Bertrand, Comte de Provence
(d. bef 1067) and Adelaide de Cavenez.
Leo generaly cites "Europäische Stammtafeln, J.A. Stargardt Verlag
Marburg., Detlev Schwennicke, Editor, Reference: II 187" for Guillaume
VI and "Europäische Stammtafeln, J.A. Stargardt Verlag Marburg., Detlev
Schwennicke, Editor, Reference: III 132" for Adelaide. I don't have
access to ES to confirm this.
Miroslav Marek (at http://genealogy.euweb.cz/french/boson.html) shows
Adelaide as the dau. of Guillaume IV de Provence and Adelaide de
Righino. He cites no sources.
I thought at first that these two sets of parents were identical (except
for the numeration of the fathers and the toponomic/surname of the
mothers), but Leo and Miroslav differ on Adelaide's paternal grandparents.
Leo shows her paternal grandparents (the parents of Guillaume VI
Bertrand) to have been Geoffroy, Comte d'Arles, and Stephanie "Dulcia"
de Marseille.
Miroslav shows her paternal grandparents (the parents of Guillaume IV de
Provence) to have been Foulques-Bertrand (brother of Geoffroy, Comte
d'Arles, q.v.) and NN de Toulouse.
Any help appreciated!

Adelaise was daughter of William Bertrand and Adelaide (for whom
there are numerous guesses as to her ancestry, but I have not
seen good support for any of them, that I recall).
William Bertand was son of Fulk Bertrand and a wife whose
identity is unknown.
Geoffrey's eventual heiress was Dulce, wife of Ramon Berenger III
of Barcelona.

Adelaide, countess of Foucalquier was the third wife of Armengol IV,
count of Urgel. Her father was Guillaume VI Bertrand, count of Provence
(died after May 1065) and her mother (died after 12 October 1113) was
also called Adelaide - her parentage is unknown. It has been sepeculated
that she was a daughter of Arduin, count of Ivrea but NB this is
certainly not proven. (The surnames given by both Leo and Miroslav are
not based on definite information about her origins.)
Guillaume VI Bertrand was the only son of Fulco Bertrand, count of
Provence (died ca 27 April 1051) by his wife of unknown name & origin.
It has been speculated that she was named either Hildegarde or
Ermengarde and was a daughter of Guillaume III Taillefer, count of
Toulouse & Emma of Provence. But NB this too is not based on direct,
contemporary evidence.
The standard account of this comital family is Jean-Pierre Poly's _La
Provence et la société féodale (879—1166): Contribution à l’étude des
structures dites féodales dans le Midi_ (Paris, 1976).

Guillaume Bertrand was the son of Bertrand, count of provence. Bertrand was
the second son of Count Guillaume III and Gerberga of Burgundy.
he married a lady named Ermengarde (POLY, La Provence, p 34), called
Eldegarde in a Montmajour charter dated 1040(Montmajour, p 136-137: ego
Bertrannus comes...Eldejarda Eveza uxor eius firmavit...) who survived
untill 1077 (S Victor, n° 88...Ermengarda comitissa firmavit...).Her origins
are also unknown. They had 2 sons, Guillaume VI and Geoffroy II,counts of
Provence (S Victor, n° 659: ego Willelmus et ego Gauzfredus comites sive
marchiones Provinciae filii praefati Bertranni...).

Could you clarify a point for me in your first paragraph?
Who "mar 2nd to Bertrand Raimbaud"? Was this woman who married Bertrand
Raimbaud Adelaide/Azalais (wife of Ermengol) or her mother Adelaide
(wife of Guillaume Bertrand)?
