Hi! I am having some problem with an app that I have deployed. First it loads ok, then I upload an input file it requires, see a progress bar, then a progress bar disappears (as usually) but after that the app freezes (some elements become greyish and new elements don't appear).

My guess is that there is some problem with a file I use as a database. It's an .xlsx file and here is how it's referred to in the code:
dat<-read.xls("database.xlsx")
When deploying with RStudio server, I simply put this file in the same folder as server.R and ui.R and it worked. When trying with ShinyApps, I also simply left the file in the same folder as server.R and ui.R.

Should I refer to the file in a different way or my guess is wrong and the issue is completely independent on that? I will greatly appreciate any help. If you need more information about my app, don't hesitate to request.

Bogdan,
Have you adjusted the size of the memory footprint of the container you are running with?
It may be that your application is running out of memory.  Error reporting is something that we will be investing more time into in the coming weeks.
Best,
-Tareef

Bogdan,

I believe you are seeing the same issues as this post:

I would use the same workaround that I described in that post.

Indeed, Andy, it's the same problem and the suggested solution has worked. Thanks a lot!
