Moving this thread to a formal ride call. (I moved folks to BCC and trimmed off people who said they could not make it or otherwise didn't respond on the original OT thread.)

By a rough count on the OT thread, we have about +10 so far(!).

Ritual Roasters Rollout, promptly at 6:50. Yes, that's later than the traditional 6:30 RRR, but Ritual stopped opening at 6, so we all got a bit older in the ensuing years, didn't we?

Traditional/canonical Bayway route including Feral Cat Freeway, though I reserve the right to redirect us onto surface streets if we are too big a group after the water stop.

Happy 20th, Bayway!

Original ride call from 2006 pasted below. Credit to Eli Dylan for being the first to +1 that ride.

To: Road Bikes <rbike@

I will lead a no-drop ride to work on Friday using my route along the bay. 42-ish miles. figure on 2:45 total ride time.

meet at 24th & Mission BART station on the NE corner at 6am. depart promptly at 6:05. call or text me if you have any questions: xxx

this is a much prettier ride than the standard Peninsula route, with a lot less traffic and traffic lights. think of it as the Skyline route without all the hills.

(does anyone know how to convert a KML file into something that renders in GMaps?)

+1. I'll either turn around at the water stop, or take Caltrain from somewhere. Mostly likely I'll follow my old pattern of missing the group at BBQ and chasing, but maybe I'll actually make it to the roll-out.

If any of you out-of-towners need to borrow a 52cm bike, drop me a line, I might have some options.

What style are you thinking? I'd love to join but as I've done one real ride in the last 6 months I'm not sure I can keep up with anything faster than S3.

Oh man, 20 years! Unfortunately, I can't join the celebration this time, being firmly land locked in Boulder far away from any bay :) Thanks for calling this ride, and the one two decades ago Brett! This thread made me smile.

Holy shit, where did the time go? After SF I moved to NYC and Philly, took the bikes with me. Got suckered into racing and beginner coaching for many years, and now lots of mountain bikes, Shotgun seats, and cargo bikes with my two littles with some skinny tire speed occasionally. So yeah... I blame SF2G.

Happy 20th, friends!

Aw rats!  I’m going to be in London that day.  I will close my eyes and daydream of the Feral Cat Freeway.

Although I'm more of an S4 guy these days, and not even sure that I can make it the full 40.

I have an extra 53 cm bike if anyone from out of town (or in town, for that matter) needs a loaner to do this.

I'd love to go somewhere for breakfast afterwards if there are other folks who don't need to rush off at the end of the ride.

I wasn't really joking about the style 3.8...

The more stretched out the jersey, the better.

"Worn out to the point of being see-through" bin shorts expressly discouraged, however.

I was hoping that the weather forecast would clear but it continues to look like rain all Tuesday morning. I'm calling off the ride; however, other folks are welcome to ride that morning if you don't melt in water like I do.

I'm currently looking at Friday, May 1 as the rain date.

A bummer for sure, but I came down with a stomach bug this weekend and I'm not sure I would've even been up to a ride on Tuesday.

Also, by May 1st, I might even have the range extender for my bike by then.

I swear I was prepared to HTFU, but I have to admit I’m relieved. Thanks for being a good ride dad, Brett!

(Don’t really feel all that much like re-creating this morning…)

I've been watching the forecast very carefully, contemplating if I was going to +1 and have to HTFU and wear that exact red jacket. Misery loves company!  Clearing out my morning May 1st and hoping for drier weather.

Casting a wider net about the rescheduling of the 20th anniversary ride via BCC. The official ride call by Yours Truly has moved to Friday, May 1 in search of a rain-free ride.

Also, the original ride call was for a Friday, so it feels appropriate.

Wish I could make it and thanks for keeping me in the loop. What a crazy awesome milestone. Hard to believe it has been 2 decades. 🤯Sf2g was my welcome party and entree into sf and tech. I thought it was Valhalla and well I’m still here and it’s still freakin awesome 👏 Jess and I are down with little Amélie our baby in Big Sur I’m taking another installment pat leave so 4/21 would be out but I could likely make the first so count me in.

Make it a FFFF for the win?
Just kidding :) that was a later innovation.

For Friday May 1 IDK how or where I could do this but I might be a +0.5 to intercept you in Palo Alto somewhere (I can ping you separately when it is closer to figure out where/when if it is looking likely)

Slowly healing from tendinitis, will hopefully be able to roll slowly by next Monday. Will likely peel off near the airport to head over to YouTube.
