OT: April 21, 2026: 20th anniversary of the first Bayway ride call

Hi all,

I commute more via ‘run + Caltrain + run’ nowadays, but I can definitely find some non-running spandex for such a special anniversary. Who all else wants to spend a couple-three hours with friends old and new, wondering more times than comfortable, “where did all the time go?”

CC’d a bunch of people who I’ve ridden with over the years. All are welcome. Or send in your regards from afar!

damn, wish I could be there. my old blue cannondale lurks still in Bernal. definitely would take me 3 hours nowadays, if I made it at all.

Sounds fun, but I'm in Seattle these days. True story though, my first every SF2G ride started with Brett and a guinness at some dive (was it St. Patrick's day?) in 2011.

it's possible - I'm still in SF! :) can't remember exact date of my first SF2G ride but I'm assuming must have been around 2007'ish? I have been Perm Remote - WFH for a long time - I don't miss the commute and CalTrain but do miss riding with y'all.

It’s so awesome to see a ride call and names that conjur great memories (tbh some of the best times of my entire 52 😱 years of life were had on SF2G with these very named folks, and I do not exaggerate).

Kind of amazing how the world has changed (e.g. remote work) not to mention all of us (scott and Brett running 🏃 in France and California respectively, and yada yada). 

I am probably not even fit enough for a FFFF these days, but I would try to make an appearance if I could but alas I have a clinic day from hell already planned 4/21 (living in Shallow Alto and working as a Physician Assistant in Redwood City, adding to the winds of change amongst us)

I've been meaning to get back to riding my bike, and I have this very fancy new e-road bike.

+1!

But I'm gonna need to actually get out and ride at least a couple times before then, because the last time I got on the bike I was hammered from riding 10 miles. On the fancy e-bike.

I've also got these nice SF2G bottles that have NOT BEEN USED!

+1. I'll either turn around at the water stop, or take Caltrain from somewhere. Mostly likely I'll follow my old pattern of missing the group at BBQ and chasing, but maybe I'll actually make it to the roll-out.

I literally just got back from doing my first Training Panic Ride, and I'm pleased to report I think the group ride will be fully viable for me and I will probably even be up to riding all the way to Google.
