I'm trying to find a searchable archive of discussions people had back in the day about Heathkit computers. The archives for the comp.sys.zenith usenet newsgroup appears to only go back to the mid 1980s. More generic newsgroups like, like net.micro and fa.info-terms, go back as far as 1982, but it's hard to find Heathkit information on them.

The best clue I've found is mention of a health-people mailserv mentioned in a "List of Lists" from 1992:
Heath-...@MC.LCS.MIT.EDU

Discussion of the construction, use, and modification of Heath and/or
Zenith terminals, computers, and related products.

The archives of old messages are kept on MC.LCS.MIT.EDU, in files:
      COMAIL;HEATH MAIL1 -Oldest Mail
      COMAIL;HEATH MAIL2 -Next oldest
etc. -Up to 8 as of 26 August 86
COMAIL;HEATH MAIL -Incoming mail is being added to this one

These files are each stored in reverse time order (i.e. newer messages
come first in the file, older messages are later); each file is between
approx. 100K and 150K characters. Copies of these files are available
via FTP with no login needed; some are off-line - if you get an error,
send a request to the administrative address below and they can be put
      on-line briefly.

All requests to be added to deleted deleted from this list, problems,
questions, etc., should be sent to HEATH-PEOP...@MC.LCS.MIT.EDU.

   Coordinator: Michael A. Patton <M...@AI.AI.MIT.EDU>

Unfortunately, the archives of the heath-people mailing list do not seem to be googlable. Does anyone have them or know where they can be accessed?

P.S. I notice that a different archive from the same server, MC CP/M, has been preserved, so there is hope.

Well this Google group list is all still on line and searchable

Mark also has an archive of the previous instantiation

Before that I don’t know. It was probably our compuserve forum but most of the discussion in the 80s and 90s was in the newsletters and magazines like H8Scoop, Buss, and Staunch89er (was that the title?). I’m not sure we have good archives of those?

The old copies of Heath’s REMark magazine are online.

Sextant magazine is mostly available on Archive.org. They also have Kilobaud Microcomputing, which used to run a lot of Heath-related stuff.
