((OOC: It's Ironic that in this instance, Lhando is more responsible then his simmer Tom. This is one of those hangovers that is still going on, over 24 hours later; so this won't be my best sim))

(( Deck 19-20, USS Unity Dow ))

Morro had impressed Lhandon. Not only was he grateful that the two had hit it off and become quick friends, but he was also happy to see that Morro was prepared.

Caras: ::tapping his now overstuffed engineering kit:: This time I came fully prepared for what we’ll need. ::looking to Lieutenant Arlill: Lieutenant, are you going to helm the Unity Dow once I get the impulse reactors going?

Arlill: That’s the plan, only I’m going to route helm controls to engineering, keep us in one place together rather than splitting up.

A telepath might be able to hear Lhandon’s thought o0 But I wanted to fly her out 0o. He kept quiet. Not wanted to comment. There was something more important

Nilsen: Hey, the dream team is working together again, amirite? ::slapping Toxin on the chest with a wide smile::

It wasn’t that this gesture was over the top for Lhandon, but with all of his doubts, he just wanted to make sure that things were right. After all, they had never served on the same team in a major mission like this before; they had always worked with other teams and spread their ops talents around. Lhandon just wished the sword of Damocles weren't hanging over his head.

Arlill: I suppose.

It was hard for Lhandon to hide his dejection. Just last year, the two would have been jumping for joy at this. Here they were, everything both of them had daydreamed about, yet it was monkey pawed. The two had hardly spent time together outside of work, going from roommates who became brothers, to becoming the dream team as Lhandon took his place under Toxin. Then, with the new ship, they had become neighbors with cabins just across the hall from each other.

Caras: Since we can no longer take the turbolift shaft, and if we’re trying to avoid the nodes, the Jefferies tube junction is right up here.

Arlill: Lead on. ::gesturing with his hand::

Nilsen: You folks had the strangest time when you first came down here right?

Caras: I’m not sure why but this feels a lot better to me than crawling down the turbolift shaft in the dark with the EVA suit on.(beat) So when was the last time you both were on an away team with one another? This does count as an away team right? Even though this is another starfleet vessel.

Arlill: I mean to be literal, we are away from our home ship.

Lhandon back Toxin up on his thought

Nilsen: Yeah we are.

Caras: Oh I see… Lieutenant Arlill, what made you pick Lhando as your assistant ops chief?

Lhandon didn't expect this question but appreciated it none the less. He smiled in anticipation for Toxin's response

Arlill: Mr. Nilsen was there when we needed the role filled. He was the most senior officer at the time in operations, besides myself, so it seemed fitting. (beat) oO I wonder if I should elaborate more?Oo That’s about it, circumstance of convenience.

o0 circumstance of convenience? What the heck Tox! 0o he felt his heart sink. Had the past year or so been a lie? He elected to do something about it and went in the other direction to hide the pain.

Nilsen: And cos I'm brilliant and we've stared down death together and told it go and do one.

Toxin then changed his focus to Morro

Arlill: What got you into engineering Mr. Caras?

Caras: Response

Lhandon responded with enthusiasm.

Nilsen: See, all the more reason to steal him for Ops.

Toxin gave the more professional response

Arlill: A laudable goal, and good choice of area of study. I almost went engineering but loved to fly too much, so I took as many engineering courses I could while working through my operations studies. ::interrupted by a sound ahead::

There was a loud shrieking sound ahead of them, around the corner, it seemed, and by the expressions on all their faces, no one had hallucinated the sound. Lhandon looked up to see where the sound had come from while Toxin made other plans.

Arlill: =/\= Lieutenant Arlill to the Butler =/\=

Anyone: Response

Arlill: =/\= Please dispatch a security officer to join us, we could use the company. =/\=

Anyone: Response

Lhandon wanted to do something about it, so he went ahead slightly, gesturing for the two to pause, and called out

Nilsen: Hello, are you okay?

He continued walking ahead, to look around the corner, and yet, he saw, nor felt nothing

There wasn't a response

Caras: Response

Arlill: I’m not sure honestly who’s on deck.

They were soon joined by Ithri, a marine that Lhandon knew in passing. The presence of the green shirt showed just how seriously they were all taking this. From the time he presented an idea to Greeves, he had seen Ithri as the more stoic of the marine bunch and perhaps the more pragmatic. Given the current situation, he was grateful for her presence. Alongside that pragmatism, there was a hint of care she showed when Lhandon's brain elected to stop sending signals to his limbs, making him unable to walk right in the middle of presenting…or maybe that was Sh’shelor. He memory of that day was fuzzy

Lhandon made his way back to the party.

Ithri: Response

Arlill: Nothing yet, but thank you for joining us.

Nilsen: Likewise, we fell a bit better having you here. We did hear a scream of sorts but there was nothing there.

Ithri/Caras: Response

Nilsen: According to the assignments, we’re the only ones meant to be on this deck.

Ithri/Caras/Arlill: Response

Nilsen: I’m half willing to bet we’re jumping creaking floorboards.

Ithri/Caras/Arlill: Response
