Sh’shelor: It is a good idea.

Maxwell: It's a grand idea is what it is.

Greaves: I’ll make sure to set up a meeting where we can go over it in detail. Hardest part will be getting every department on board, like you said.

Nilsen: I’m glad you like it.

On any other day, there would have been a massive smirk on his face, the nearly unanimous agreement that it was a good idea would have certainly caused it, yet his face winced as another bout of pain struck him.

Sh’shelor: This sort of endeavour will take more coordination. It would be best to…

The pause said it all.

Sh’shelor: ‘Cherry pick’ individuals at first.

Greaves had almost laughed, and Lhandon had let out a smile. He hadn't wanted to put it in such blunt terms, but Sh'shelor had been correct.

Maxwell: Aye, see how many department heads we can upset on the way.

Ah, annoying Sherlock had been Lhandon's favorite thing, right up until the moment his best friend and brother also became his boss. He had tried to join Maxwell in his roguish smile, but he knew something had been wrong.

Greaves: But for now, let’s table the discussion. You’re not looking too hot Ensign, and as tough of a façade as you’re putting on, it looks like you need some rest.

Nilsen: I’m good sir ::breathlessly:: Gotta whole list of stuff to do anyway.

Sh’shelor: You should go to Sickbay.

Maxwell had stood up and taken a solid step towards Nilsen, perhaps out of fear that he might collapse in front of him. Maxwell then fixed him with a stare, one that only the big, gruff, kick-butt Maxwell could pull off.

Maxwell: You've two choices laddie. Park your arse. ::He pointed at the chair.:: Or, I carry you tae sickbay myself.

Greaves: I’ll reduce that down to one for you. Ensign, go to sick bay.

Ah marine love, “you will go to sick bay and you will like it”

In another situation, the idea of Maxwell lifting the 6'4 HCO (which he absolutely could have done) out of the gator would have filled the room with laughter and joy, perhaps after a prank or some kind of lower deck hijinks.

Sh'Shelor: Response

Nilsen: I’m honestly…I’m good

o0 Mr Greaves, I don’t feel so good 0o

Greaves: Ah uh uh, no discussion. Go get checked out before your return to duty. (Turning) Lieutenant Maxwell, can you see to it that he makes it there?

Lhandon could only get out two words

Maxwell: On it, sir.

Lhandon had struggled to voice his protest, but it was so weak that it went unnoticed.

Sh'Shelor: Response

Greaves: Lieutenants, Ensign, it was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for the solid feedback. I’ll set up a meeting in the future and we can dig more into it.

Maxwell: Looking forward tae getting stuck in. ::Turning his head.:: Right laddie, lets be getting you aff tae see those bonnie wee nurses in sickbay shall we?

Nilsen: Thank…thank you sirs, I’d appreciate that.

Sh'Shelor: Response

At that point, he didn't know who he was calling sir, he just knew he wasn't feeling good. Maxwell might have been the same rank, 2LT to Lhandon's ensign, but if needed, the respect Nilsen had for Maxwell, he had more than earned that honorific.

Greaves earned his respect too, he had barely met the ensign and had given him the time of day. Nilsen wouldn't forget that.

Sh'Shelor was refreshingly honest, and they seemed like a supporter of the idea as well.

He liked the marines, as he had mentioned earlier, Marines were not a traditional part of Starfleet, at least not pre-Dominion War and some officers didn't know what to make of them, they had given them a wide berth, but for Lhandon, these people were friends, they were people he cared about, and this interaction, showed what he already knew, they cared about him.
