((OOC: Here's the next part of Lhandon's timeline. This takes place after the away team get medical treatment.))

((Nilsen’s Quarters, Cabin, 602, Deck 4, USS Octavia E Butler))

Lhandon was sent back to his quarters to recover while the rest of Ops got on with the tasks at hand. Nis's words of threat to rest were heeded somewhat. After sleeping and resting, he got to work getting all of the PADDs out of the way and submitted the operational report plus a message to Salo.

He then turned his attention to the banana bread that he had made. It didn't quite turn out the way he wanted; it seemed to have the right consistency, but as he sliced it open and tasted it, there was a distinct lack of banana. He had ended up with just a bland loaf.

As he looked at the fruit bowl on the side that was full of fruit and not random clutter like some heathens in Starfleet that he had heard about, he saw that all the bananas he had placed in this bowl were missing.

He certainly didn't remember eating them. They definitely had gone into the loaf, but he knew Eli used bananas to test the transporters.

o0 Awww, Eli must have been here 0o

The thought alone led a smile to form on Lhandon's face. The OEB was really starting to feel like home, and his boyfriend was now comfortable just showing up and letting himself in. Just like at home, lots of activity, lots of people.

Although he tried not to think about the dark shadow of the rift forming between himself and Arlill that was being cast over his life.

He also elected not to think too hard about the bananas, and he was saved from any pain that might have brought him by a comms message from Dr. Toz.

Toz: =^= Dr. Toz to Llandon Nilsen. =^=

Nilsen:  =^= Go for Nilsen, what can I do for ya doc?=^=

Toz: =^= I have a little issue I need your help with in sickbay. At your convenience, of course. =^=

It was better then, “come back to sickbay, you’re going to die”

Nilsen: =^= Well I'm doing nothing, so I’m in my way. =^=

(( Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Octavia E. Butler ))

Lhandon had put Toz in the category of people for whom he would gladly drop everything if they called. The category was huge, with Morro being the latest person added to it, and there were perhaps only a handful of people in the galaxy who were not in it. Still, Toz had a special place in it; they had both been prisoners of war together and orchestrated one of the most kick-butt prison escapes in Starfleet history.

Nilsen: Toz, you called?

Toz: Oh! I’m so glad you’re here. ::nodding at Barney:: Do you know this fellow?

He saw Barney on the bed. The man seemed to be about six feet tall, with sandy hair that was slightly curly.

Nilsen: No, I don't know think I've ever seen him in my life?

Toz: All right. Then do you know someone named Wilma?

He shook his head, almost wishing he could help.

Nilsen: That name don't ring a bell either.

Toz: Only that he came in with the Unity Dow crew.

Nilsen: I'm sorry I don't know how much help I can be, I don't know either Barney here or Wilma.

He paused for a second to think about something that was knocking around in the back of his head, but this process was interrupted by the reason for Lhandon's visit to sickbay.

Barney: Who are you and where am I?

Toz jumped backward and Lhandon recoiled as they both were surprised by Barney's sudden awakening. Lhandon saw Toz's attention move to himself as if she was wondering if Lhandon could help. It seemed as though Toz thought Lhandon might have a key to this mystery.

Barney was clearly distressed, an obvious reaction to the trauma that the crew of the Dow had experienced; so Lhandon spoke kindly, and softly his Gaultan accent slipped through.h.

Nilsen: Hey mate, I'm Lieutenant Lhandon Nilsen. I'm the Assistant Chief of Operations on the USS Octavia E Butler. This is Dr Toz. She's the best damn doc this side of the wormhole. What's your name buddy, what's your role on the Dow?

Barney/Toz Response

Nilsen: Well would you look at that, we got the same last name. Not every day I meet another Nilsen out here. ::to Toz:: I'm guessing this is why you called me? I'd recognised me own accent a light year away.

Both Barney and Lhandon had seemed to share some of the same linguistic traits as Gault. Their voices had both been soft and their vowels had been gentle. It had seemed that both had also had their accents smoothed over just a little by the practice of Federation Standard.

Just the thought of Lhandon finding a new family member had filled his heart with joy and he smiled widely and almost made the experience of OVIV worth it.

Barney/Toz: Response

Nilsen: I know, I know, it's a lot to take in. We recovered the Unity Dow, as well as some of the crew, so you're safe now. We've left that system?

Barney/Toz: Response

Nilsen: Why don't you tell us what happened? And we can fill in any blanks you have or answer any questions.

Even as he asked the question, he remained calm and spoke with kindness. He really felt for Barney, possible family member or not. Barney clearly had had a worse experience than Lhandon back in the system Lhandon wanted to forget as quickly as possible. Lhandon wanted to reach out to him and put his hand on Barney's shoulder, but he hardly knew the man, and given what had happened, he wondered if that would stress him out.

Barney/Toz: Response

Lhandon also wondered if it would be a good shout for a counsellor to show up
