Really recently, less than two weeks... must have been a day or two after
October 8th, when the #12th issue of Miracleman was announced as appearing,
which was pretty much the only reason we had to be there, besides my plan of
finding one of the Van Gogh pastiche Dr. Who t-shirts for my daughter, and
the ritual stop for any Auburn trip at Western Sizzlin' for a steak,
nostalgic because this is the only one of those in this area still going,
and also just a mighty fine steak and potato. But I digress...
Yes, this event was just at or less than two weeks ago.

There's more that supports what you're saying... in the weeks right before
and after the Auburn Alabama incident at Hastings, a cop stopped, detained,
and even "friendily" questioned Dave, with me riding shotgun when he stopped
us at the Fairgrounds the day before the Fair opened. We were riding through
a couple of times to see what it was looking like, which was dismal, the
smallest fair ever, so it wasn't worth going back to, either way... and
twice, two different cops stopped us to tells us his "tag light" was out,
and both times I had to show them the light /was/ working, just rather
dimly.
All these times the cops ran checks on Brother Dave, and each time let us go
free... do you really think if we were black they'd probably have shot us?
Sure would have been surprised since at all times I know we gave the cop no
reason to.
