Jeff Thompson - Wednesday thru Sunday, probably going to drive, so a
late evening arrival on Wednesday.
DC players (most likely me and Matt Morgan) plans are not yet
finalized. I'm assuming that the kind of WoN that we're used to is
not happening this year? Either way, I will probably be visiting a
friend of mine in Monroe, LA for the beginning part of the week, so
I'd imagine that I'll be there Thursday - Sunday or something like
that.

What is the kind of WoN that you are used to?
So far, no actual V:TES events have been announced during the WoN, which
figured kinda large in previous WoNs.
V:TES events (tournaments, drafts, miniqualifiers, storylines etc.)
scheduled Monday through Thursday.
WON 2007: 8-ish (9, but two were scheduled at the same time)
http://nac.vtesinla.org/WoN.htm
WON 2008: 4 announced

(I have a vague memory at least one draft event also took place)
WON 2009: 8 announced

WON 2010: 0 announced

The hotel prices are ridiculous. I'll be staying ~4 miles away at
Motel 6. If anyone was going to arrive early, they should definitely
post in this thread and the original spirit of the Week of Nightmares
(unlimited unscheduled games) could return.
The scheduled Week of Nightmares has been possible in previous years
due to the availability of local players to judge and there aren't any
in New Orleans. (There are a few players, but none with the week
off.)
In some of the earlier years, the only "events" announced for Monday,
Tuesday, and Wednesday of the NAC weekend were, "Let's all show up
earlier in the week and play pick-up." (Milwaukee, 2002...)
Fred
Pascal - Monday through ?Monday? (perhaps a bit more - I don't visit
New Orleans that often, and they say their prawns flambées are
wonderful).
Haven't chosen which place to stay at yet.
Arrive Sunday through to Monday (Mike Nudd Monday hopefully)
Need a place to crash sunday or recommendation of fun hotel :D
Up for VTES if people get there early or just sight seeing in the Big
Easy ?
I would recommend the Royal Sonesta. It is on Bourbon Street and is
only 7/10 of a mile from the Roosevelt.
That is correct. It will be mainly casual games unless someone wants
to run a tournament.
I have very, very fond memories of Milwaukee. I honestly have never
played with so many good players in so many good games in such a tight
timeframe since.
>There are places in the French Quarter for as low as $80/night
Indeed.
Motel 6 is $45.
In the French Quarter, for $45.00 they won't let you sleep on the
street. :)

Indeed.
That's why I'm staying 4 miles away.

I will be arriving Monday through Thursday at about 7 PM each evening.
Thursday night I am planning making an outing to Commander's Palace.
Who else wants to join me at one of the top 10 resturants in America?
I will have to make a reservation. So, a headcount would be good.
this sounds awesome - I will attend - I assume Mike Nudd will do to
but will confirm.
That's two!
The countdown has begun!

I do want to make note that there is a dress code required. A casual
outfit of a buttondown, belt, slacks and dress shoes are required
(sorry now tennis shoes). Something like the below link.
Hey, even I can do that!
Count me in.
Having resolved a few personal issues, looks like I'll be attending.
Arriving Tues evening, departing Monday
So currently the headcount for Commander's Palace is 6 people.

Is there anyone else that I missed?
I'm not 100% confirming yet, but I'm intending to go. (Gotta figure
out my trip finances this weekend.)
-John Flournoy
+1, I'll hit it
excellent news Cylon.
*cough*
This would be one person, not two. (Although he might eat like two, if
the food is that good.)

I think it's likely that you can count Matt Morgan out for dinner. I
am still on the list, although, fitting a jacket into my luggage might
be a problem. We'll see how packing goes.
Blazers?!? We don't need no stinkin' blazers!
(Sorry, couldn't resist. Also, the dress code Norm laid out requires
neither tie nor jacket, FYI.)
