Positional Lotto Wheels from Groups of Numbers I

One year and one day ago, I started a thread in this glorious newsgroup:

(Hottest-24 lotto numbers in the 6-59 UK Lottery).

One string of consisted of the most frequent 24 numbers regardless of position. Another groups consisted of the top 24 numbers position by position. I chose for this thread only the top 12 elelements for each position.

The non-positional system generates a total of C(24, 6) = 134,596 combosnations (a favorite of my lottery-speak, mind you!) The positional system generated a total of 1,067,772 combinations (there is no formula for that as some numbers overlap randomly).

I stressed in another thread that the positional systems always perform better than non-positional systems based on frequency/skips. Granted, the positional system amount to a larger number of combinations.

At any rate, these types of lottery strategies are impractical. Nobody can generate that many combosnations and print them on tickets... and then go to a lottery terminal! So, many lottery players think of wheeling the combinations and the results are so-called 'reduced lottery systems (wheels)'.

I generated all possible combinations from the two systems above. Software: SkipSystem.exe, menu II of the Bright / Ultimate grandiose lottery applications. Functions: 'S = Lotto 6', then 'G = Generate Combinations from Systems'. We enter the systems above, one at a time, paying attention to the names of the output files.

In the next step, we are going to wheel the output files created at the first step. Software: SoftwareLotto6.exe. It is listed as 'Super Utilities' on the main menu of the Bright / Ultimate grand lottery packages. The super pack has many functions. We'll use the function D = Duplicates: Strip and Wheel'. I chose the '3 of 6' minimum guarantee to get the minimal amount of combinations to be published here.

The non-positional system ended up as a 74-line lotto wheel:

Since we know that the non-positional systems fare more poorly compared to their positional big-brothers, I had a high degree of confidence that I should successfully reduce the positional wheel further. My grandiose lottery software boasts another unique feature: 'LIE Eliminations'. I applied a tough LieID filter: 4. That is, my level of confidence is high that the non-positional system will not fare better than '3 of 6'. That is, more often than not, the non-positional number will not hit 4, or 5, or 6 winners.

Thusly, I 'Purged' the 370-line initial lotto wheel (another unique feature in my lottery apps). he result was a final positional lotto wheel consisting of 274 line.

I do not have the latest results for the UK 659 lotto. Probably the last drawings I got are from March of the year of grace 2017. The curious one can check if the systems hit since January 2017. It is also worth checking future drawings. Those who fell in love with 24-number groups have no better chance. Who could play 134,596 combosnations?!

Even though the positional system hit only '3 of 6', the wheel also hit '3 of 6'. In this case, the positional lotto wheel assured the '3 of 3' guarantee. The strictly positional wheels offer a tremendous advantage over their non-positional counterparts. It is possible to get quite frequently '4 of 5', even '5 of 6' in wheels meant to satisfy only the '3 of 6' minimum guarantee.

Evidently, lottery players should generate frequency/skips systems 'strictly position by position'. The only purpose of the non-positional systems is the 'LIE Elimination'. The final step is to wheel the resulting output file as indicated in this thread.

At least: 3 '3 of 4' matches and 23 '2 of 4' combos.

The efficiency is even higher considering the non-positional system hit only '2 of 6' winners in both draws. Applying the LieID filter = 3 would have eliminated many more combinations while keeping the '3 of 6' hits.

It might look intriguing that the positional frequency system keeps hitting at least 3 winners even after one year worth of drawings. Actually, the system complies with the normal probability rule. The lotto numbers have strong tendencies when it comes to positional appearance. We was debating the phenomenon in this glorious newsgroup years and years and years ago. It was the paleontological era of the 'Kotkodcuks and Kokostirks'. "O tempora! O mores!"

We can see clearly that the non-positional systems hit more rarely. They have a longer cycle of fruition than their positional counterparts. In the particular case of a recent UK lotto 6/59 drawing, the positional system I created more than a year ago had the following performance. The parpaluck (range of analysis) was 100+ lottery drawings.

I haven’t checked the results between January 2017 and January 2018. I am sure the positional system had several ‘6 of 6’ hits (all 6 winners in strictly in their respective positions). Maybe, just maybe, the non-positional system had its own ‘6 of 6’ hits (fewer, for sure). He who has eyes to read should be able to determine a skip of the non-positional systems.

Actually, the positional system had 7 winning numbers, if you believe it. 4 of the winners were in-position, but 3 other winning numbers landed in wrong positions: 22, 39, 44.

This is the great advantage of the positional lottery systems: They “snatch” more winners. That feature translates further into positional lotto wheels with significantly more hits. In this particular case, the positional lotto wheel cannot hit the ‘6 of 6’ combination (jackpot). For the jackpot, the 6 winners must be in the right positions. But if there are winning numbers repeated in wrong positions, then the wheel can hit even ‘6 of 6’, although the system was wheeled for the ‘3 of 6’ minimum guarantee.

I obtained the latest UK 6/59 Lotto history file. I removed the dates, the bonus numbers and other extraneous info not needed by the greatest lottery software in the history of the Universe.

I checked the January 2017 positional system as strings of the top-12 lotto numbers in each position. The unchanged positional system hit the jackpot, indeed. In fact, 2 '6 of 6' winners, 15 '5 of 6' hits, and 23 '4 of 6' winners. I did not check for '3 of 6' hits as they would increase the size of the report. And my software does not account for the so-called bonus number as it turns in a winning proposition only rarely. Of course, there would have been more than 2 but fewer than 15 winning situations with the bonus number.

At the same time, the non-positional frequency system recorded only '2 of 6' winners when the positional system hit the jackpot. Therefore, a LieID filter = 3 would have dramatically reduced the amount of combosnations to play (a favorite of my lottospeak). Furthermore, the non-positional skip systems would have reduced many more lotto combinations via the LIE Elimination strategy. To say nothing of other types of lottery strategies by applying safe filter settings.

Axiomatics all over the world, the positional systems are the way to go in lotto. They hit more often (more efficiently) because the lotto numbers have an inherent tendency to hit in certain positions. The positional lotto systems (based on both frequency and skips) respect that natural tendency.

The checking was done strictly position-by-position. But more often than not the positional system snatches all winners, plus winning numbers out-of-position. Out-of-position numbers are still winners, but they don’t contribute to the jackpot. They create many more lower-tier prizes nonetheless.

Look at the situation of the first jackpot hit; Drawing #48. It had 9 “winning” numbers. That translated to one jackpot and 3 match-5s (not counted in the report). Line # 2 reports a single ‘5 of 6’ but in reality it has 2 more match-5s. It also has a bunch of unreported matchy-4.

Adding the ‘LIE Elimination’ strategy, the positional lotto systems beat random play by 20-40 (2,000% to 4,000%, that is). Forget about 3 standard deviations, as the paleontologists of this community required. Where are them now, the Kokostirks, Kotkoducks, Krokodicks, Sharks (aka Shkitser) et al.?

This appears to be the optimal parpaluck for POSITIONAL frequency analysis. That parpaluck is closely related to PAIRS analysis too.

In another thread here, I set the parpaluck to approximately N * 4 (240 draws). The positional system hasn’t fared as well so far (5 draws checked or so). The diligent student of the game should also check another positional parpaluck: N * 3. Larger parpalucks will not fare better. Au contraire, larger parpalucks would smooth the distribution towards equal frequencies (probabilistically speaking).

It is also evident that two parpalucks should be applied: One for non-positional analysis, and one for position-by-position.

My lottery software calculates the non-positional frequency parpaluck based on the Fundamental Formula of Gambling (FFG). For example, the SkipDecaFreq6.exe program defaults to a non-positional frequency parpaluck of (N / 6) * 2 = 20 for a 6-59 game. A non-positional system created by that parpaluck fares better in the near future.

This sui generis lotto wheel shows an average of 3 ‘Match-3’ hits per draw, plus dozens of ‘Match 4 of 6’ over the entire history of UK 5/69 lotto game.

Is this a world-record lotto wheel? Let’s analyze deeper. The previous world record was for 49 unique numbers in 163 lines. Not to mention that that cover or design had a severe flaw: It was a SPLIT wheel. The lotto numbers were divided into two groups; the numbers in one group were never matched with numbers from the other group.

My cover or lotto design treats the lotto numbers equally. The key feature is the natural bias of the lotto numbers toward one or two positions in the combination. Evidently, nobody has ever seen a 6/59 combination to start with number 58; and we’ll never see lotto number 3 in the 6th position!

How can I say I created the world-record lotto wheel? Methinks I can answer such a question and set it on a solid foundation. I can compare the sizes of the two designs and how many combinations they cover.

The previous design: 163 lines; my design: 274 lines. Ratio: 274 / 163 = 1.68.
The previous design covered 6 of 49 numbers or 13983816 combinations. My lotto wheel deals with 6/54 unique numbers that generate 25827165 combosnations (a favorite in my lottospeak!) Ratio: 25827165 / 13983816 = 1.85.

Advantage of my lotto wheel: 1.85 – 1.68 = 0.17 (17%). Therefore, my lotto design is the champion of the world by a margin of 17 percentage points. For PARITY, the (49, 3 of 6) lotto wheel should have a maximum of 136 lines.

'Full lotto wheel' is an oxymoron. A 'lottery wheel' is synonymous to 'abbreviated' or 'reduced' lottery system. It cannot be both 'full' and 'reduced', now can it?

But let's go with the crowd for a step or two. Fools and half-wits have a right to be as the rest of us. Let's give them fulls... er... never mind... full wheels in the 'positional' category.

'MDIEditor And Lotto we' and LotWon lottery software apply a group of filters named 'Ver'. It's an abbreviation for 'vertical'. You got it: 'vertical' or POSITIONAL filters.

We employ just two positional filters:
Ver_5_1 = 100 (a very tight level)
Ver_6_1 = 500 (a very demanding restriction).
The two tough restrictions do occur several times in 1000 lottery drawings as you can see in this fragment of a sorted report. Well, you better do the reporting on your own! The report name is MD6.1, then you sort it (main menu of Bright/Ultimate, function 'O = Sort Filter Reports by Column').

Software employed: Wheel6.exe (menu II, function 'W = Wheel On-The-Fly); minimum guarantee '4 of 6'. Well... that wouldn't be fool... er, full wheel...
We'll employ a different program: Combine6.exe (main menu of Bright/Ultimate, function 'R = Randomized Combinations'). A number of 100 lines were randomly selected after a 20,000-combination run.

Database in Pennsylvania 6/49 Lottery; the outcome can be applied to any '6 from 49' lotto game.

Look at the filters employed, Kashbeck. I described them as ‘vertical’ or ‘positional’.

37 in the 1st position means that no combination in the last 500 drawings had 37 as the lowest number in the draw. By the same token, 31 or lower in the 6th position defines a draw the players call ‘birthday numbers’.

Strategy-checking is a must, so we can determine the strategy profile. That is, how many hits the strategy registered in the last, say, 1000 drawings, what the median skip is, etc.

Discovering never stops. I've always received suggestions from various users of my software. I keep an open mind and I usually respond to good suggestions. It was the user who pushed me in the right direction in the 'LIE Elimination' matter. I created very potent software is that matter. Based on the same software, we discovered another way of playing the lottery. There are situations when we can predict IF the most frequent 1-or-2 lotto numbers will come out the very next drawing! We know FOR SURE when such numbers WILL NOT come out the very next drawing (as repeats from the last draw)!

At this time, I don't feel comfortable presenting that lottery strategy publicly. It is out of respect for my friend (who also had a serious health problem).

While the secret strategy was blooming exceptionally well, I was hit by problems of my own. Google Chrome scared the hell out of potential visitors to my site. If I had a lot of money to hire good lawyers, I would have successfully sued Google for serious damages. The fu**king browser warned potential visitors that my site was NOT SECURE AND PEOPLE SHOULD STAY WAY FROM MY DOMAIN! The warning was in scary red! Of course, my site has always been SECURE.

So, I first I implemented free SSL that converted my URLs from http to HTTPS (considered secure). The free SSL worked, but not always. When it didn't work, the browsers were even more frightening. Not only was my site "dangerous" but it attempted to... steal the SSL certificate issued to another site!!!

In any event, at the beginning of current month (Rocktober 2018) I secured a paid SSL certificate valid for two years. The situation with my website seems to have stabilized.

The lottery strategy remains a secret for now. In fact, my intention was to discontinue my software distribution this year of grace 2018...

There is a new useful feature for reading the Usenet posts in Google Groups. The vast majority of newsgroup members use GROUPS.GOOGLE.COM to post and read on the Internet pioneering service, Usenet.

One drawback of the Google service, very useful otherwise, is the default font. It is a proportional font (of variable-width, that is). However, initially Usenet was written and shown in a monospace font.
