Saturday Lotto, Monday & Wednesday Lotto, OzLotto.
Barrels
Commencing Saturday, 2nd April 2005, we introduced our "new look" Lotto barrels which use an air blowing mechanism to randomize the balls. The barrels were also modified to enable the drawing of 7 winning numbers and two supplementary numbers so they could also be used to conduct Oz Lotto as of its (seventh number) introduction on the 18th October 2005.
Two barrels are currently used for conducting draws each week (Oz Lotto, Monday & Wednesday, and Saturday Lotto). Only one barrel is used per draw and the other barrel is on standby as a backup. The barrels are rotated so that the same barrel is not used for the same product in consecutive draws.

There are two sets of Lotto balls. Set 1 is only used with Barrel 1, set 2 is only used with Barrel 2. These sets have been replaced since 1995, before this date we do not have any details readily available.

Powerball
Barrels
Powerball has 3 barrels in total, 2 of which are used to conduct each draw. One barrel is used to draw the 6 main numbers and the second barrel for drawing the Powerball number. The third machine is kept on hand as a back up.
These 3 barrels are all configured to enable them to draw either 1 or 6 balls and are alternated each draw.
