Sheldon's wife is a good cook, he's just stuck on his own food (was: "Stale" Cheetos)

I find this really odd and suspect she's probably a good cook
considering YOUR standards. She used to author many (or most?) of
your more 'respected' Usenet cooking and food posts under your AOL
account back in the dayz when you were at your "peak" here in RFC.

I could instantly tell the kathyknits from the penmart01's even
though they said penmart01. Like this one - a dead giveaway at
the time but maybe nobody but me noticed it.

https://groups.google.com/g/rec.food.cooking/c/-mBkX8KlVFk/m/747LqS4cFGAJ

Now read the next message after that.

OOOOPS! She posted it under her account with your signature, but
then tried to delete it. And thinking she caught in time, she
posted it again under YOUR AOL account. OOOPS!

Now does that REALLY sound like Sheldon who wrote that? Of course
not. And this explains a lot. She's actually quite literate and
knowledgeable. Sheldon, OTOH, well... Hrmmmm. Kinda
knuckle-dragging primitive at his best.

Public records also show that she moved out of the house when your
posts started going to shit. Actually, she moved into that front
house of yours first. And then she moved even father away from
you. But it seems she may have come back(?) and probably does most
of the cooking seeing as how you only gush about the shit you cook
(and rarely now).

There's other things in the time line that back all this up like
the George and Becca thing... oh shit, I got the sqwertz of the
mouth. I shouldn't post this...<scratching head> ..."midget",
"runt". Oh, and "dwarf"... Yeah - I think I'll post it after all.

Have a Great Day!

You've posted this before, Steve. I might be mistaken, but wasn't it
mentioned that Sheldon has remarried, and his current wife from Belize
(or wherever south of here) is not the same wife referenced in the 1996
Usenet posts above?

Funny :-) Having never met or spoken with her (but have been
tempted), nor have I any second-hand information about her, I
never would have guessed a NY accent. Sheldon has made her sound
like a fresh imigrant when he met her - which I've gotten the
impression otherwise on my own.

But how to explain that she had her own AOL account and posted
elsewhere on Usenet in the mid-90's. And that your postings and
popularity dropped like a rock around the Susan Hattie days
(1997?). And that Google actually *dropped* your posts from their
feeds and archives (as penm...@aol.com) because you were so ...
nasty.

While previous posts show you as a knowledgeable contributor

couple of them posted under your wife's account (oops!).

A couple=few posters in the RFC on Facebook group remember you,
well... as the person who they really didn't like. And two of the
first foodie friends I met in-person here in Austin in 2000 (met
through austin.food and had explored RFC)) both asked me about
"his deal", too.

What happened to the Old Sheldon? Why does he know so little about
food and is so dead-set in his ignorant ways contrary to all those
former posts of his?

So basically Bad New Sheldon killed Good Old Sheldon and took over his

Sheldon somewhat recently posted that his wife formerly used Usenet, and
posted into a knitting newsgroup until it fell apart. She may have
posted on RFC in the past, but does it matter? I know lots of older
folks who shared a computer and e-mail address for years. She probably
didn't pay attention to which account was being used. You still see
older married couples sharing a FaceBook account sometimes.

Steve, some of your obsessions are a bit creepy. I'm sure that you have
work to do... I don't think that you've dwelled enough on John's posts
for the day, so hop to it.

P.S. If posts are dropped from an archive due to "nastiness", why are
Kuthe posts not dropped, then?

I'm assuming that you're joking, but I'm careful to *NOT* snip relevant
context, and leave what's necessary without leaving someone's life novel
quoted above. There are plenty of folks here who purposely snip things
out of context, and that's slightly humorous at best, but usually
obnoxious.

I tend to go for minimal quoting, leaving just enough to respond to
specific points. It may not be perfect, but it is better than leaving
100 lines of text from 5 different posts in the thread. If people are
unsure about the context they can follow the threat upstream.

I recall Mr. Brooklyn1's posts being dropped out of Google Groups. I don't know what that was about. My guess is that a stroke or some sort of brain injury is responsible for the behavioral change. The guy upstairs had that happen to him. It ain't pretty. I had to call the cops on him. OTOH, he's not responsible for his bad behavior.

Back in The Day there were a lot of tech foodies in the Bay Area
that frequented RFC. It would not have been hard for somebody at
Google, or their spouses, or kids to pull strings and have Sheldon
literally killfiled.

Sheldon always denied it and pulled up posts of his to prove
otherwise, but they were quoted posts. You could not find any
ORIGINAL posts of Sheldon's for several years, Until one of the
major rewrites that crippled Deje-Google did his posts start
reappearing.

Yes, Sheldon is on 4th I think? 3rd if I'm wrong.

Don't worry if you don't have all the history. I drift in and out from
1995-2001, then drift in and out from Japan with a .jp address likely,
Then back around 2007 then out for a bit. Minor player all those years.

I think I'm only fairly consistant from about 2013 to now.
