It was supposed to be raining at 9am local. So we canceled our usual Saturday Ride. But come 9am, the sun was shining though it was very cold outside and my thermometer outside saying 50 F. I'm going to have to replace that sine today isn't supposed to get above 47 F. i often wonder why my previous outside thermometer was always square on the money while the new one ix rarely even close. While cleaning up under the shadowed overhang I knocked the old on off and broke it. I think that I will try a digital indoor outdoor gauge so that it is easier to read inches from my seating position.

Now at 10:30 after we could have put in a fast 20 miles it is heavy overcast but still dry. There was also supposed to be violent wind gusting but none showing yet.

I think that after those idiots taking Dublin Grade last Thursday that the traffic will be superlight for at least a month. I have never been able to figure out what goes through the minds of these people. For some reason the traffic is always slow up the hill out of Castro Valley and as soon as it clears the top even heavy trucks are going 70 mph. Why would anyone take the frontage road when the Freeway is a lot faster even with the uphill delay? Over the top the traffic rapidly spreads out and the maniacs are again up to 80 or more mph. This is completely predictable and at the base in Castro Valley they have a Highway Patrol headquarters that used to have cars on that section to stop this sort of thing. But for indeterminate reasons that was all stopped during the Democrat machine years here which has been for the last 13 years of corruption so deep that since Pat Brown was elected in 2010 I believe that there has only been one honest election.

But all of those really smart people that took the frontage road undoubted didn't get home until 8 pm or later 5 miles of bumper to bumper traffic with a very low stop light at the other end and then all of the traffic using only two additional roads to go to either Dublin or Pleasanton had to have given these drivers a lesson that will last until the next commute hour freeway wreck.

Plus commute hour has changed from 4-5 to 1-3 I got home at 1:30 from my ride which put me on the grade at 1. It was a Thursday so Friday Light wasn't a reason for the roads to be that crowded. There is enough traffic to show that a large percentage of the population left in California is working but those sorts of hours means that they are working in restaurants and not high tech jobs which used to be the job sources. When you want to punish people for being successful by instituting antibusiness laws it is the workers who suffer the most.

restaurant worker get a minimum wage of $3,100 a month and pay HALF of that to Federal and State taxes and have to work a 7 day week for that. Waiters make tips but most people pay with credit cards now to avoid carrying money in dangerous areas so the wait staff again lose half of that to taxes. Even if they are paid tips in cash the tax people ASSUJME 15%.

None of these people can afford to buy a home now in California, they can't even afford RENT without three or more people sharing. Now in the local CHEAP supermarket I pay over $100 for an 8 item bag of food. It isn't unusual seeing people buying dried rice and beans or an entire case of Cup of Noodles. If my younger brother was still here and not run off to cheaper Reno, he would not be able to afford a new car and put food on the table and he would STILL vote a straight democrat ticket.

I have to wonder just how bad it is going to have to get before people start voting for a real change'?

Considering the opinions of the stupid 5, never I guess. Biden will be lining them up against a wall and shooting them and they will STILL say that the inflation and train wreck is Trump's fault;

What this all boils down to is that the mountain roads around here are mostly useless and won't be fixed anytime soon, the roads on the flats are so full 0of potholes that they are dangerous for a CAR to negotiate let alone a bicycle and a normal person cannot make a living.

I am retired and with investments. I can afford it. Krygowski describes the place his VOTING made as a hell hole. He watched as the water supply for at least three states was so polluted that cancer is the expected outcome and he is not smart enough to connect his own voting as the reasons for that. Instead he whines that honest citizen should not be allowed the constitutional right to self protection.

At one time the United States could be relied upon as the world's cop ready to step in and separate angry people and cool tempers. Now the COPS are becoming the problem. There is NO WAY that the Ukraine can win against Russia. Russia already controls 80% of the Ukraine. Rather than a US acting as a go between for as reasonable settlement as could be made with Putin (remember the Ukraine STARTED this by killing or displacing Russian-Ukrainians) instead they are not just prolonging the war but allowing the Ukraine to shoot cruise missiles into Russia proper. Remember that Krygowski's beloved Ohio is a prime nuclear target because of Wright-Paterson Air Force Base. So it probably isn't such a great idea poking the bear constantly until he gets tired of it and he already has cancer and not a long time to live without US medical procedures. And his successors are far less patient.

You don't need a new outside thermometer. Just use nearby weather
stations. Unfortunately, the nearest accurate weather stations are
about 1 mile from your location. You're on flat ground so they are
likely to be good enough.

I recommend using these three:

Not when you voted for this guy:

But this one took the cake.....

Despite the factual incorrectness of the amount of land russia occupies (actually ~20% https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2023/feb/21/a-year-of-war-how-russian-forces-have-been-pushed-back-in-ukraine)

- Ukraine started it? wow. I used to think tommy couldn't sink any lower - with his ludicrous claims that Obama started the recession and biden plans on on killing "everyone", as well as his rants condoning mass murder of LGBT and his threats to murder members of this forum. But now russia was justified in invading Ukraine because they were allegedly killing Russians in the Ukraine?

Does tommy have any evidence that Ukraine was murdering russians other than as a response to the invasions? If so I'd like to see it. I know he doesn't have the courage to address me directly, so anyone - even the angry little afro-irish troll - feel free to chime in here. Show me some _credible_ evidence that Russia was simply defending it's citizens abroad.

It was a promising bike related subject so I looked, but I could I have known.
Complaining about:
- a thermometer,
- traffic,
- highway patrol,
- California in general,
- Democrats,
- Biden in particular,
- Road conditions,
- accusing Ukraine to have started the war

Jesus f*cking Christ, please end your misery.

Lou, I am worth a a million and 3/4 dollars. Exactly what are you worth? If you think that I am miserable for myself you are simply showing your socialist roots. Socialist turn control of their lives over to a government and then think NOTHING of others.

Amazing. How did you manage to lose 1/2 million dollars in 1 month,
and then gain 1/4 million dollars in the next month?
