Now, that being said, there is doping and most positive tests are not
false positives. However, the aforementioned "because I say so"
personalty types believe every positive test they've ever heard about
no matter how shoddy the lab techniques or difficult the science. To
them, there are no false positives.
OK, with all that off my chest, I would like to know if someone can
refer me to two items:
(1) A link to the exact text of Floyd Landis' statement or statements
confessing his use of doping
(2) A link to an explicit statement by Floyd Landis that he did use
Testosterone to enhance his performance in stage 17 of the 2006 Tour
de France.
Note that (1) and (2) are separate issues.
Please, only hard links to statements by Landis.
(Also, I am curious to see hard links to evidence that Testosterone
can enhance performance when taken a few hours before the event. I am
skeptical that it would even make sense to use it for that purpose.)
Cheers,
Dennis Allard

Landis never confessed. The NYTimes, LATimes, and Wall Street Journal
all misquoted him.

Jackass. He admits to transfusing blood. Landis likely forgot he had
residual testosterone in that transfused blood. He admits to using
testosterone patches and this previous use is what likely contaminated
his stored blood.

First of all, it does enhance performance. Second, even if it didn't
it's on the banned list and arguing that it isn't beneficial is moot.
You're not even allowed to argue that in a doping hearing. It's like
arguing with an NFL referee during a game that you think a field goal
should be worth 4 points if it's kicked from a further distance than one
that is worth 3 points.

You need to pay attention. I'm gonna keep my eye on you because I think
you're a troublemaker and will cause problems in here.
Magilla
dumbass,
don't be a dick.
it's easy to find.
there is a bit too much detail for it to be all a fabrication.
He's not being a dick, he's just new and doesn't realize that MG
treats everyone that way, and that for the most part he isn't serious
with his insults.
Fred
So much name calling and condescension, so little time...

Thank you!
A simple reply to my simple question.
I also found this WSJ article, although it does not include actual
full text of Landis' statements:

I make no such conclusion. I asked for exact quotes and you provided
them.
Thank you.
Since I have a mentally ill brother and considerable experience
listening to statements made by him and others that are incredibly
detailed yet all figments of the imagination or based on religious
views and with no relation to reality. Any attempt to impute
rationality or truth to a statement made by anyone, per se, is always
suspect, IMHO.
Yes, of course it *sounds* as if Landis has decided to some clean.
Personally I will need to see corroboration by others and a proper
investigation done logically and without prejudice.

Dennis
Thanks for the heads up Fred. I'm sure MG is a nice guy. He does not
worry me.
I'm not super new, BTW. I've been using USENET since 1986.
The first posting I made to rec.bicycles.racing dates was in 1994
about PBP and RAAM.
Cheers,
Dennis

Listen up Dennis the Menace,
Do the fucking Google search yourself. And stop asking stupid questions.
Magilla
Dude, check this out.
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.bicycles.racing/msg/73055fcdddafddb0
A year later he was the last guy on the planet that still
believed in Tyler. And this isn't the first time he's
gone looking for a google bitch.
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.bicycles.racing/msg/bb25c07eb0033419
And now it's a couple of years later and he's prattering
about false doping positives and asking for pointers to
stuff he could look up himself.
You two were made for each other. You'll enjoy each other's
company.

"We believed, for example, that Newtonian mechanics was true until
well into the 20th
century when Einstein proved it to be false."
It wasn't proven false, Einstein came up with a more inclusive theory
for extremely high velocities. Example, how many of us
stir the theory of relativity into our TT speeds or is distance over
time still good enough?
Phil H
Some FM's have enough mass to distort space-time during their TT.
Well he sure as hell worries me...
