Yeah, you run into that problem a lot when you actually know a lot about a
subject and take a test on it designed for people with only a surface
knowledge of the subject. You end up getting questions wrong because the
test itself isn't technically accurate.

I was forever frustrated by our yearly required online training for active
shooters. There was always a question that said, "If you find yourself in
an active shooter situation, you should:

(a) try and distract the shooter

(b) find a hiding place and call the police

(c) engage the shooter and try and disarm or kill him

The correct answer was C but the computer marked it wrong and said it was
B.

Except I *was* the police so the test was telling me I should hide and call
myself instead of doing what I was paid to do and deal with assholes who
are shooting up the place.

I've taken several FCC exams for both commercial and
amateur radio licenses and they all seem to have one or
two questions and possible answers that make you go "what?"

On the amateur exams, okay, it's just a hobby, not a
job with critical performance criteria, but for the
commercial licenses, you're supposed to be able to work
on an actual radio transmitting station. I'd think trying
to play mind games with examinees would be counter-productive.

Lincoln was able to make slavery illegal DURING THE CIVIL WAR as he
confiscated the property of the enemy. Once the Civil War concluded,
the Emancipation Proclamation had no legal effect. The constitutional
amendment was required for peacetime.

The organizations noted that McCarthy’s pledge seemed “especially exploitative in light of the rampant promotion of antisemitic tropes and conspiracy theories by him and his top deputies amid a surge in dangerous right-wing antisemitism.”

They noted McCarthy himself was previous accused of trafficking in antisemitic tropes after imploring Republicans to stop Jewish billionaires George Soros, Tom Steyer and Michael Bloomberg from “buying” the 2018 election. The California congressman never publicly apologized for the remarks.
