"... it doesn't matter the distance... just the freedom"

And part of the freedom comes from the distance or speed not mattering. Thanks, Hugh.

With abandon,
Patrick

BEing Existence

what does it matter how far, how long , how this that and the other ?   Really ?   lol

It doesn't . . . .for BEing has no end nor beginning, it is every-where and every-thing , all-the-time

Nothing can add to it's Greatness and certainly nothing can diminish it . For BEing is Eternal and All :)

The Atlantis in the photo.

In addition to the feeling of freedom, I'll add the people you meet when you're on your bike and the people you ride with.

Always has made sense to me. I've had a love for bicycles since I first learned how to ride one. I've lost my front teeth, broken my collarbone, nose, and elbow while enjoying the freedom. Small prices to pay given the countless hours of peace and solitude.

OMMMMMMMM!!!!

(Or is that "aum".)

Patrick Moore, samadhi-izing after a nice ride in ABQ, NM, and who really agrees with Garth, though he questions his manner of expression.

My time unable to ride was marked by a bike sitting at the foot of my bed, objectifying my greatest want. Happy to have the other foot and leg for the pedals, but dreaming of being able to use it motivated me to suffer the hours of weighted stretching and other torment and torture to be able to ride again, get into the business, meet Bridgestone and Grant and upon my exit from the retail world, the Rivendell that is in my front hall now.

As a company Riv found an ethos that is present in this forum, matching the passions of individuals who find such joy in cycling. Cycling to me is the reward balancing the damage, pain and loss that life is so full of and makes me find thanks and grace instead of grief and pessimism each day, dark frozen roads, filthy kit, and cold bits included.

Beautiful, Andy! A bike does make it easier to focus on the gifts rather than dwelling on the pain.

With abandon,
Patrick
