Though it's already February I've been fairly busy so this was the quickest I could get this out, you know what they say better late than never. Read about it here.

The Southern California S240 a month experiment continues.

Fantastic! That fixer-upper sure has a great spot. Maybe that's where I should move! Grin.

nice report Hugh. How was the climb north from  Indian Cyn to Magic Mountain?  That's the only section I have not been on... yet.

Mike,

Thanks.

It was similar to the previous parts of SCDR nice dirt and pavement sections unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the road but Evan did here it had decent grades not as steep as Gleason and nice downhill sections. It has only whetted my appetite to explore. This is the time of year IMO as the temps are low and bugs nonexistent. Soon I'm thinking of Pacifico Mountain. You have any experience with that area?

Hugh:

Thanks for the report.  That is truly an inspiration to do this ride.  Keep those ride reports coming!

Will your Atlantis be ready for the next one?

Doug,

Thanks and they will keep coming. On the matter of the Atlantis and the next S240 sadly no. I'm shooting for March! I thought about the RSR I think the Hilsen is more appropriate for that ride.

Really looking forward to our next ride keep me posted.

I've ridden to the summit of Mt Pacifico,  it's mostly dirt but well graded. From there you can cross over to Angeles Crest at  Three Points, have a late lunch at Newcombs and camp  at Chilao.  Next day ride down Angeles Crest to Upper Big T and down to Lower Big T and out.  There is also a cool ride from Redbox down into Shortcut Canyon and out at Cogswell reservoir.   There are many different routes we can explore.

BTW... I'm totaly over that nasty virus and ready to go.

Mike,

Glad your better.

Don't know when I'll do the Mt Pacifico ride I had thought of doing it at the end of February as a solo just from Mill Creek Summit out and back if the Ojai ride falls through. Instead I may doing something out my back door. I need to get another map of the area you described as it's off my current map. Please go ahead and figure out what you'd like to do for say March keeping in mind the RSR in the middle of the month obviously and we'll see what sticks.. I'm game for the Ojai S240 but I won't do it if it's just Evan and I that would be better for a small group.

Patrick,

Thank you. Are you talking about Camp 16 as a fixer?

Oops. I conflated your February 5 pics of the stone ruin with this trip.
