Hello All,
Was wondering if any members in NYC would be interested in meeting up.  Options are completely open: short rides, trading unwanted goods, consuming adult beverages, visiting shops....anything really,  Even with our moderate winter so far (knock on wood) I've not been riding that much so any bike related activity is welcome.

Any ideas and/or takers?  I'm in Manhattan, retired, so fairly loose as far as scheduling is concerned.  Let me know what you think...

Best,
Alan

I'm in Williamsburg, not retired, but am happy to see people who don't think that my bike obsession is all that peculiar.

I'm also in Williamsburg, though I ride up through the big city regularly between jobs and parenting. I've got some spare parts, happy to trade. I like drinks, happy to drink. And retirement, might be a dream but I still dream it. Schedule is such that I'm hard to workaround with meet-ups, but if you arrange something I'd do my darndest.

I'm also on the UWS, so 2 for Williamsburg, 2 for UWS.  In terms of location, I'm happy to meet anywhere, depending on what's easiest for the rest of y'all.  I'm guessing an evening for drinks, maybe a bite would be a good place to start.  Maybe a 1/2 way point like West Village or LES?  Please be frank about your preferences...also, let's convert this to private e-mails.  Mine is ciga...@gmail.com.
Looking forward to making this happen!

Hi all-

I'd be interested in hanging out, as well. I am in Kensington/Windsor Terrace area of Brooklyn, so I'll throw the geometric symmetry off a bit...

I'm new-ish to the city, so meeting up with local folks sounds great.

So please add me to the list! I'm at beewak-at-gmail.com

Cheers- Mike

I'm in Western Queens and will ride pretty much anywhere in NYC to meet up (West Village or LES is really easy).  And I built up a little pile of parts I'd love to trade! My email: brad at bradparis.com

Jerrrey, missing your e-mail.

Should we just arbitrarily choose a night next week to meet?  I can do Mon, Tues or Thurs.  Can anyone suggest a place to meet where we can actually talk?

Any NYC Riv Riders with a 62 Hunq that'd let me give it a test spin over New Years?

Looks like this is a busy time of year for many. I'd be happy to meet Thurs evening in the west village but I'm not sure anyone else can come.  May be best to postpone this until after the New Year?  Let me know what you want to do...

Brad,
It may be just the two of us, but I'm game if you are. You can pick the place.

I won't be able to make it tonight, wherever you decide, but I had a thought. There's that new Riv dealer, 718 cyclery. I went by there and it's a great spot. What my thought was is a get together at one of their wheel building seminars. They're free, and not surprisingly they're very popular. Filled up through December. But January maybe? They're held on Friday evenings once or twice a month. There's also plenty of more rudimentary workshops throughout the month, not sure where our median mechanic skills are at but I'd be open to whatever with wheelbuilding being my next great hope.

Sounds interesting. I've been curious about 718 since it showed up on the Riv dealer list. And I wish I knew how to build wheels...
