Portland Bound

Greetings Portlanders,

My wife and I are currently traveling around the San Juan islands on her Atlantis and my Hillborne. I wrote the list some time ago for recommendations about our journey and a few Portland locals suggested getting together while we were in town. We still have a week or so on the road, riding primarily through the cascades between here and Portland, and I thought I should throw out a potential time to meet up. Our plan is to arrive in Portland sometime around the 18th. I was thinking it would be great to grab a beer with some of you good folks on the evening of Friday the 19th. I've heard Velo Cult is a great place but am open to other suggestions. Anyone game?

Luckily Julia and I just ran into Chris who let me know that this is actually happening. I hadn't seen the replies come through but looking forward to meeting some of you. We may get there a little earlier to watch the tour if anyone is so inclined.

It was a pleasure to meet you guys last night and spend some time chatting. It is clear that you all have a solid community here and thank you for being so welcoming to Julia and I. It was great to hear some stories and spend very little of conversation focused on gear :) Russ and Laura from the Path Less Pedaled joined us and Russ led us to toast in memory of Seth Vidal which was touching to me. It was my first experience of meeting up with people from this list serve and it was clear that this community extends into real personal relationships.

Hope you all continue to enjoy this Portland sunshine and let us know when you're down in the bay.
