Some of the Portland country bike crew rode the Dalles Mountain 60 route… the day after the actual DM60 event.

among the highlights were…

a 12 mile ascent on a muddy dirt road… sticky fender clogging mud. this 25% of the ride took about half the time.
bush whacking across a thorny gully to access/ride the Maryhill Loops Rd.
riding in 2 states
visiting the Maryhill Stonehenge
crossing the Columbia River twice
riding the last 5 miles after dark

It sure looks like some wild adventure with a raucous bunch!

With abandon,

Andy,

Looks like a great ride. The Mayhill hengy thing is cool.

Hugh -
Did you click the link? Full-size + Astronomically aligned replica built during WW1 as a monument to the fallen and (then) still falling soldiers. I would like to return when the sun is out. Would be a neat place to hang around for sunrise or sunset. Our time there was short as we still had 25+ miles to ride with a few hundred feet of elevation gain and lots of gravel… and 2 hours of day light.

The list of possible places to go this summer is long.

Stone Hedge? Looks familiar I'm pretty sure I went there.

Here's a few more pics from the ride.  Some are pretty bad photo wise, but content wise they are great!  This was a challenging ride, but tons-o-fun.
