Manny visited and brought the sun with him. He handed over his Nitto Campee rack. There was riding, kids, coffee outside, donuts, food carts and beverages. And many Rivendells. Three (!) Cheviuts in 3 sizes, a Homer, an Atlantis, a Hillborne. Lots of other really useful bikes. We visited the soon-to-open, long-rumored, ideally-located, Rivendell bike shop - Rivelo. Good times were had.
First and most importantly we had the most gracious and outstanding AirBnb host of The Knotty Grotto.
John and Darby, proud new owners to Rivelo PDX.
Bike AND Record store!!
No real opening yet. Super soft opening.
Pretty sure details will follow soonish.
Here's the website: www.rivelopdx.com

Anyways we came up to buy "THE RINGS", Ash decided to buy her's from a established and more reputable company.

I decided to buy my rings from a bike builder.  Bob from Bantam Bicycle Works forged three rings of true. In the fires of Mt.Tabor he labored over the famed material of titaniumizm, the legendary metal of Portland. Why do you ask did he forge three rings? Well. I lose things...
We were invited to join Andy and Company for a BBQ shingdig.
The future wifey and I were warmly greeted with Andy and Company. Many new friends were made, interweb friends were met again. I was united with my long lost brother Russ Roca, from PathlessPedaled.
Bob brought me my three rings. In which instantly Andy instigated that I should throw them in the fire to see them change color.I totally decided that my rings should represent the satiety of my marriage and should be tarnish by being thrown in a fire, all by myself. That the story... yea...

Week prior there was a ride expected, I get a call from Andy saying pretty much that this Manny ride got turned into an MAshley ride, much to the gentle nudging of the other women in his life.

So fast forward to Saturday and this MAshley ride started 40 minutes late. Typical but never a big deal, specially when you're having coffee. Super mellow ride down for Blue Star Donuts then to the new store. We get there to John and Darby toast to the new shop and to our engagement which was super sweet and amazing on their part. We finish the ride with Food Trucks and boba. Always a great time seeing friends in PDX. You're welcome for bring the sun.

Also I broke my lens to my camera...

Pictures Proved that a Prime 70 mm lens only shoots Portrait shots well:

Nice Photos.  They make the orange of the Cheviuts look much more attractive than the ones on the RBW web site.

Although I have lived in Seattle for the last 20 years (Great City) Portland is where I grew up and I still have family and friends there and get back to visit a couple times a year.  I see you made it to the detention bar at the Kennedy School -nice.  If you haven't been I would suggest visiting Velocult http://velocult.com/ - bikes, beer Coffee and sometimes live music- why would you ever leave?

Don't know the exact address, but it's across the orange line from the RR Museum. Reality is that it's little more than an empty commercial space right now. John was talking about a soft opening in the next couple months then a grand opening later in the summer.  I imagine there will be announcements.
