Since there has been curiosity about peoples' complete bikes' and/or frames' weights, I figured it would be fun to reveal how much our Rivbikes weigh.

Would be informative to know:
1. Model
2. Framesize
3. Weight of complete build, or your frameset. (Including fenders/bottlecages/racks/lights/bells is ok since dismantle-ization would be unfair to expect of a complete build. But no bags/bottles on board, please).
4. Build list, if you feel up to all that typing. Would be fun to see what everyone is hanging on their Rivs anyway. But that is a lot to ask and not expected.

I would start, but I have to go home and weight the bikes first.
So I will try to report back soon with my Sam and Bleriot weights.

And if you guys feel strongly about this being inappropriate for Riv-culture, please delete the thread, but don't run me outta the forum on a rail. This is all intended in good fun and info-purposes.

I climbed on the bathroom scale with my Hunqapillar and the scale said 47lbs (minus the rider)! So I emptied my saddle sack onto the kitchen scale and the contents came to 5lbs (maybe I don't need so many Irish straps?), and I would guess the medium saddlesack is about 3-4lbs, since the the medium shopsack is 1lb, so my 54cm Hunq is about 38-39lbs with:

Standard Hunqapillar albatross bar build
Nitto small front & big back racks
Medium Wald basket
SKS fenders & Riv mudflaps
50mm Marathon Supremes
Brooks flyer select saddle
White Industries pedals & BG halfclips
Son Dynamo & Luxos U headlamp
2 King Cage Iris bottle cages
1 brass Crane bell
1 mirror

I guess I better recheck how much weight my bike racks can hold.

Cheers,
John

61cm Atlantis with Shimano Deore/Sugino/Tektro/Silver 'group', beefy 36h wheels with shimano dyno hub, fenders, B&M eyc dyno light, brooks b17, jack brown blues, mks 'battle axe' grip king pedals, tubus cosmo rear rack, v. old large baggins bag, small berthoud from RBW garage sale containing flat/spare/toolkit, u-lock and saddle-security-cable: 31lbs.

20 lb eh? I weighed my 68 cm Bomba with racks and lock but no bags recently when I was considering boxing it up to ship to myself. SON dyno front hub, Phil Wood rear, 60 mm Big Apples, Berthoud SS fenders. It was 18 kg and change. I put an Ursus Jumbo kickstand on today, so I'm thinking I might have tipped 20 kg... If I go past a public weighbridge anytime soon I'll weigh in and report back!

Heavy-ass bike yes, but I don't think there's one single component I would want to remove. Everything's paying its way.

And I can't figure out if it should be with racks, bags, and baskets...and if so, which racks, bags, and baskets?

In any case my Hunq, with motor, feels about a half pound lighter than it did this morning before my 20 mile ride. Does that count?

My 54cm Hunqapillar weighs 31.4 pounds with no fenders, bags or pump. Here are some aspects of the build that might impact on the weight:

Schwalbe  50mm Big Ben tires
SON dyno hub
Soma mustache bars
Brooks B17
MKS Grip King pedals
2 Blackburn bottle cages
Avid V-brakes
Simplex Retrofriction shifters
Sugino XD2 triple crankset
Racktime Addit rear rack (advertised weight 1.6 pounds)
Cateye 5-LED rear light

So not a lightweight bike, but if that is what I wanted I would have bought something in carbon fiber.....

The weigh-in was had...contenders had a pretty nice stare down...the results are:

Bleriot
34.4 lbs.  Heavy weight build includes Schwalbe tires, B17, big Carradice (didn't empty...just a tube or two, couple levers, patch kit, etc), fenders, Blackburn rear rack, MKS Touring pedals, battery light.  It's a "smooth" 34 pounds.

Riv Road
25.6.  B17, frame pump, Sugino PX crank and mainly 105 components. Tires are Pasela TG's.  Feels pretty light to me.

The lightest in fleet is a 74 Hetchins.  Comes in at about 23lbs.  Going to do a triathlon on this in a couple weeks...should freak out the tri geeks.

Quickbeam
25 lbs exactly
Brooks B17, WTB dirt drops, Salsa steel stem, Nitto M12 rack, Wald basket, Nitto cage. Original wheels, Soma C-Line 37mm tires. Original brake in back, Tektro 720 up front. Shimano 600 42/39 cranks driving a Dura Ace 15t cog and/or a Surly 17/21 Dingle.
I don't feel that this bike could go any lighter, with the parts it has on it... ;^)
If I were to change to Spooky brakes, titanium Brooks, lighter wheels? Sounds like a challenge! Or an expensive way to get it to 24 lbs exactly...

Hmm, I don't have a scale.

Observations from the real world on last week's group ride: I didn't have to ride around standing water from recent rainfall to avoid striping my back, didn't have to ride around gravel on the roadway in places where streets had been torn up but not yet repaved, I was not unnerved by uneven road surfaces descending and I stopped to provide aid with my full-size frame pump to a rider on a CF super light who had a flat to a 23c tire and flubbed his CO2 thingy and had no other way to air up the new tube. As we rode back to the tail of the group I enjoyed my second bottle of water on the subsequent climb, CF guy stopped at a trash can along the river path and discarded both the tube and the empty gas bulbs. "Weighing me down". Yeah.

I'll weigh my Rambouillet sometime and it'll be a number. I tend to think of it as bringing enough bike when the peripherals draw weight consternation from the obsessive camp.

Andy

I like what you had to say about utility.  I agree that a truly stripped down bike that is often not enough bike for the job is kind of lame.  That said, a stripped down bike that is just enough bike for a stripped down application can be cool, too.  Anyway, the only build I have that I sweated the weight is not a Rivendell.  It's my main brevet bike.  I list it here, at the risk of being too far OT, just because it's a build kit that could work just as well on a Rivendell.  The summary highlight is that it's a steel frameset, wide tires, all metal parts, a front rack and decaleur, dynamo hub, front and rear lights, full coverage fenders and fender flap, and a bell, and still weighs 21.0 lbs.  It features a lot of nice MUSA parts.

My Rawland Stag

Frameset: Rawland Stag Size Large (58cm), Jeff Lyon custom threadless fork, Miche headset

Wheelset:  White T11 R hub, Schmidt front, Pacenti PL23 rims, Pari-moto tires, Schwalbe SV14A tubes (from Riv), allen key skewers

Drivetrain:  Rene Herse cranks, Ultegra SPD pedals, Dura Ace 10sp F+R Ders, and DT shifters.  SRAM 11-26 cassette and chain, WI Ti BB.

Components:  Soba bars, Kelly Stem, CR720 brakes (from Riv), modified Tektro brakelevers, Paul Funky Monkey hangers, Ultegra Seatpost, Selle Italia SLR Ti saddle, newbaums tape (from Riv)

Extras:  Grand Bois rack, Berthoud decaleur, hanging Edelux headlamp (from Riv), Ti King Cages (from Riv), alloy crane bell, Honjo hammered fenders, homemade flap, Pixeo battery powered taillight.

The only carbon bit on the bike is the rear derailer pulley cage has some carbon.  I did a few weight shaving tricks in the build.  I had been shooting for under 19lbs when the fenders and lights were off, but as you could predict, I never ride it with the fenders and lights removed, so who knows whether I actually made it.  :)

Question for weight savings:
Given the mass of different objects, where does it make sense to go aluminum OR titanium over steel? Leaving out crabon since that's not the discussion
- seatpost
- Stem
- Bolts for braze ons
- Bottom Bracket
- Saddle rails
- Racks(Al)
- pedal spindles
- any others? Excluding frame

Where do you gain the most weight advatage by picking the lighter material?

I was happy with my gravel grinding Atlantis until I saw Bill's 21# Stag.  I will post the build and if anyone sees a reasonable way to save weight, I am open to suggestions.  I was really impressed with how light the San Marcos is.

Shimano LX hubs
Continental SpeedRIDE 700x42 tires
King SS bottle cages
brass bell, Garmin mount, Newbaum's cloth tape

Soma San Marcos
59
21.5# with kickstand, frame pump, and Brand V seat bag
Sugino triple crankset
9-speed
Tektro side-pull brakes
Cane Creek levers
Shimano bar-ends
Selle Anatomico Titantico-X
Noodle bars
Nitto stem
Nitto seatpost
Shimano XT spd pedals
Velocity Synergy rims 32-spoke
Shimano 105 hubs
Jack Brown Blue
King SS bottle cages
bell, Garmin mount, and Newbaum's cloth tape

1996 Santana Noventa
60 x 47 fillet-brazed Columbus Encore
48# with Jandd rack
Custom built for a 6'5" x 5'4" 400# team, but it fits our 6' x 5'3" 300# team well enough.  Saving up for a new (lighter) set of wheels.

Those Atlantis and San Marcos weights are really impressive.  That Atlantis build has basically nothing light on it, has full-on heavy wheels, and still is only 26 pounds?  That's a big surprise.   The San Marcos would be under 20lbs if you took off the kickstand, pump and seat bag?  That's incredible.  I never would have thought that possible.  It's got 2 top tubes for gosh sake!  There are pounds to be taken off both builds, but 'reasonable' is in the eye of the beholder.  I assume you mean reasonable in dollars.  Chasing grams on a perfectly good build is a fool's errand.  Chasing grams from a blank sheet of paper is bad enough.

I had my eyes dilated for an eye exam this morning before I weighed the bikes.  The Atlantis and Santana weights are correct, but the Sam Marcos is 26.5 pounds.  I thought 21.5 was too good to be true.  Sorry for the bum scoop...

I would have to agree, both of those weights look very optimistic. My lightest steel bike is a 54cm Della Santa made with very lightweight OS tubing, full Campy Record 10-speed group, Ti stem and seatpost, Speedplay pedals,  and non-leather seat with Ti rails, yet it is just under 20 lbs.

Haha!  26.5 is much more believable.

That Atlantis is still hot at 26lbs, because it's so bomber and still respectable in weight.  You could drop 2 pounds or more but it may cost you $1500 to do it.

The Atlantis deserves a better wheelset, but it will have to wait; the tandem's wheels are on their last leg.

My "poor mans" Atlantis (Surly LHT)
60
28# with Pletscher rack
Sugino triple
9-speed
Tektro CR720 brakes
Tektro levers
Shimano bar-ends
WTB Shadow-V saddle
Thudbuster ST seatpost
Salsa Cowbell 2 bars
Cane Creek S6 headset
Truativ stem
Shimano DX spd pedals
Mavic T52 rims 32 spokes
Shimano XT hubs
Schwalbe Dureme 700x42
King SS bottle cages
Newbaum's cloth tape

I built this bike about a month before I found my Atlantis.  It has been hanging in the garage since.

I put this in the Roadeo thread; I'll put it here too.

Rivendell Roadeo 53cm Orange w/ white headtube

20.8 lbs. - That ain't bad for a bike I didn't really prioritize light weight on. The only thing I would add to this bike to go out on a ride is my Garmin 500, water bottle or two and a Marks tool wrap held on the brooks with a John's strap. I usually take a tube or two, small pump, tire levers and a couple of allen keys of appropriate size.

Ultegra 6800 groupset w/ 50x34 compact crankset.
Rolf Vigor RS wheelset
11x28 cassette (Ultegra 6800)
Nitto Mark's Handlebars
Look Keo Classic pedals
32mm Compass Stampede Pass tires (regular not ultra light ones)
Tektro R539 brakes
Chris King headset (threaded)
Nitto Lugged quill stem
Brooks B17 Select
Nitto S83 seatpost
2 wire bottle cages, the kind every bike store in the world carries.
Nitto Bar Plugs
Newbaums cloth tape (twined and shellacked)
Garmin mount for bike computer

My curousity beat my "who cares?" attitude.  58 cm Atlantis, pretty standard Rivendell build (Brooks, Sugino triple, etc), with Soma C-lines on Mavic A-719 rims, Tubus Cosmo rear rack & small Nitto front, Acorn boxy bag with usual assortment of junk:  36-1/2 lbs.(dry; no water).  Since I had the scale handy I weighed the Acorn bag alone @ 5 lbs.

To get under 30 lbs would mean giving up a lot of utility (not my kickstand!).  Ain't gonna happen.  Still, this is a fun exercise every once in a while.  IIRC, my bike always gains weight.

Just weighed my wife's 47 cm Atlantis:  30 lbs as she usually rides it:  Riv built plus kickstand, cheap aluminum rack with REI trunk bag, and small Acorn handlebar bag.  Without the trunk bag, 27 lbs.  32 hole wheels w/Compass tires.  Can't recall the seat but it's not a Brooks, something lighter.

I posted the weight of my 54cm Hunqapillar yesterday (31.4 lbs. with nothing but a rear rack) and now I'm 'weighing in' with my 56cm Atlantis. It tips the scales at a svelte 29.4 pounds with SKS fenders and a Nitto rear rack. The Atlantis is built with components typical for a Rivendell:
   Brooks B17 saddle
   Soma mustache bars
   Nitto Technomic stem
   Sugino XD2 triple crankset,
   Silver bar end shifters
   Tektro Oryx cantilever brakes
   Tektro 200 brake levers
   Grip King pedals
   Deore XT hubs
   8-speed cassette
   Deore rear der
   Suntour XC LTD front der
Alex DA16 rims with 1.5 x 26 Pasela Tourguard tires

It would be reasonable to expect a Hunqapillar to weight about two pounds more than an Atlantis with roughly the same components and accessories. At least that is my experience. Some of the difference in my case is the 26x1.5 Pasela tires on my Atlantis are significantly lighter than the 700x50 Schwalbe Big Bens on the Hunq.

This thread is interesting - so much of the weight of a bike is in the components, lights, accessories, racks, bags, and what is inside the bags. That stuff has weight, but it is what makes a bicycle more comfortable, practical and useful.

29.6 lbs.

Oh.  I see I'm not playing nice.

Model: 2013 Sam Hillborne
Framesize: 52 cm (old sizing)
Weight:  35 lbs includes Sackville small seat bag with Sackville tool roll inside (tube, patch kit, multitool inside), empty bottles, Acorn handlebar bag (empty), bottles (empty), and Zefal Pump.  I am going to guess 31-32 lbs without all of that.

It is a standard build with change outs of noodle bars for Albas and additions of a Brooks B67 saddle, Shimano Dura-Ace bar ends for silver levers, and Thin Gripsters.  The 36 hole Velocity Atlas front rim was changed out for a 32 hole Velocity Synergy with a Shimano LX Dynamo and there is an Eyc front headlamp (cool little light) and Dyno Rack Light.  I added a Nitto Mark's Front Rack M1 and Nitto M14 in back.  Hoommm.  Let's not be hasty.  I guess i's not a standard build any more.  That seems to happen with these bikes.

unfortunately i don't have a scale at home, but when i picked up my simpleone from the bike shop once the mechanic said, "it's lighter than i expected." ha. that seems like a win to me! although i assured him that was only because the medium saddesack and wald basket were empty.

58cm Sam Hillborne: 41 lb including pump and tool bag which are always on the bike; normally I ride with 5.9 lb. of locks and some water as well, so call it 48 lb. Then add my laptop bag with everyday carrying-around stuff, so call it 55 lb. for a regular commute. Then stuff the same bag with diapers, wipes and baby snacks, and 5 lb. of baby seat, and 27+++ lb. of baby, and you're up in the 90 lb. range. Oh wait, we stopped for groceries, a gallon of milk weighs 8.7 lb... are we still counting grams on the bike?

Yep, the Sam Hillborne is a "do everything" bike!

Mostly complete build list:
58cm Sam Hillborne (DTT), stock headset, seatpost, bottom bracket
Wheels: SON and WI hubs, Dyad rims, Schwalbe Delta Cruiser 700cx35
Drivetrain: Sneaker pedals, Sugino triple 175mm, Shimano 9sp chain/cassette, Shimano something road triple FD, Deore LX RapidRise RD
Brakes: Tektro R559
Cockpit: Bosco Bullmoose bars, Miesha's grips, Shimano MTB levers and bar-end shifters, bracket for the baby seat
Saddle: Brooks B17 Natural
Racks: Pass & Stow front, Tubus Cosmo rear (with some bungies/straps living on them, just in case)
Lights: B&M IQ CYO front, Toplight Line Brake rear, Planet Bike Superflash for backup/extra viz. in the rear
Fenders: VO stainless steel 45mm, Sackville mudflaps (missing one at the moment, so add a few oz. I guess)
Kickstand: Pletscher twin-legger (tossed the rubber feet a few days ago, because the legs had punched through the bottom)
Topeak frame pump, Acorn tool roll with assorted tools, Carradice Bike Bureau

Interesting exercise. I weighed mine w bags, pumps, repair/patch kits, lights, but with no water bottles, in other words as they would be ridden:
1) Riv Road Custom, 61.5cm, standard build w brifters, Carradice saddlebag, 28mm tires, 26 lbs.
2) Quickbeam, 60cm, with Nitto M12 front rack w Wald basket, medium sackville bag, banana bag, & two freecogs on the flip-flop back, JB tires, 30 lbs (wow!).
3) Legolas, 62cm set up in Rando mode with brifters, Nitto M12-like rack and Acorn handlebar bag, Carradice saddlebag, Longboard fenders, dynamo hub & light, 32mm tires, 31.5 lbs.

When I had my frame powder coated, I called Riv up for frame decals, but the only ones they could provide are the fragile decals that need a clear coat, which I didn't want to do. I found an online company that makes custom frame decals that you can design yourself. I have forgotten the name of the company though. Sorry. I just ordered Riv's Ressurecto stickers and might use those on the down tube for "Urban anti theft camo". Maybe.

IIRC, my errand custom fixie is ~23 lb without fenders but with rack, dyno lights, cages. The gofast is 17 3/4 lb. The Fargo IIRC is ~30 lb: it may be 28 or it may be 31, I forget. Again, all ready to ride with all bolt on parts except fenders but no bags or bottles.

And my bars are 3 cm below saddle for the Maes Paralells (shallow drop), perhaps 2 1/2 cm for the Noodles; 2 cm above for the Fargo.

Ha, you guys are a bunch of weight weenies!  :)  On Sunday, both buddy and I were riding our carbon bikes climbing out of Sausalito towards the bridge. His bike is the latest 2014 Trek Madone with ultegra di2, probably weighs about 16 or so pounds. I'm on my "tank" calfee that weighs in at 18+lbs. As we were "cruising" up the first hill out of Sausalito, this guy on a Hillborne blows past us. He had massive amounts of tattoos on both is legs and arm and had a big Nelson type saddle bag. He was flying up the hill pass us and I couldn't see anything else on his bike like whether it had a double toptube or not. Needless to say, his bike was probably heavier than both our bikes, but that in no way stopped him from flying up the hill!

Ha, you guys are a bunch of weight weenies!  :)

There are no weenier weight weenies than the Camping weight weenies, so I set up a minimalist S24O kit.  I took my 27 lb double speed (with HA Panniers) and added:

Hammock + sleeping bag + VBL + stuffable pillow
stove + pot + utensils + cup + coffee kit + firestarters
parka + skull cap + tights + nighshirt headlamp
can opener beer opener bandana

34.0 lbs with no food and no water, and no whiskey.

I can substitute my solo tent and thermarest for my hammock and add 750g.

My bike/weight:

62cm Quickbeam

Built as follows:

Front wheel - PJW built Shimano 3N80 Dynamo laced to a Velocity Dyad
Rear wheel - Rich built Phil double sided single speed hub laced to a Velocity A23
Schwalbe 38mm Marathon Supremes
SKS P45 fenders
Cantilever brakes
Sugino XD cranks, 40, 32 chainrings
Cane Creek hoods
MKS track pedals
Nitto Jaguar seat post
Fizik saddle
Nitto Technomic Deluxe 11cm stem
Nitto Noodle bars
Nitto mini front rack
Nitto Platrack
Slickersack
Schmidt Edelux dynamo light
Portland Design Cygolite Hot Shot taillight

We won't talk about the 50 - 60 pounds of groceries in the trailer I pull home several times a week.

Don't hold your breath.  Jan doesn't ride a Rivendell (even though he still owns one), and Jan knows that bike weight doesn't matter anywhere near as much as people think.  Grant also knows that handwringing over bike weight is a pointless exercise.  He doesn't know what his bike(s) weigh, doesn't care, knows it doesn't matter, and is busy doing things that are less pointless to him than weighing his bike(s).

Me though, I don't mind being pointless.  I weighed my "road bike".  My budget Roadeo:

Frameset:  Black Mountain Cycles 59cm, cane creek threadless headset

wheels:  Open pro 32 hole, ultegra rear, WTB front, vintage Dura Ace skewers, 12-25 9sp cassette, 700x32 challenge Eroica tires

32h lx/synergy w/ Quasi-Moto tires, xt rd, cx70 fd, sugino xd2 wide low double, very old sugino loose ball bb, mks urban pedals w/ clips n straps, cr720 cantis, 9sp shim on paul thumbies, large bullmoose bar, lugged nitto post, b17, 3 king cages, pletscher kick stand.

~56/53 long bike ~46.2 lbs (bonus fun bike)
531 super-tourist, RBW fork crown, very RBW build, albatross in front, bosco stoker, b17 for both, sneaker pedals, nitto big back rack, nitto mini.

I/we are very pleased with all of em (well the Gios may be too small), but that took longer than I thought it would. This weight stuff is indeed insidious, and best eschewed. Riding round the block a few times on any one of them would have been a much better plan.

35 - 40ish. Depends what I got in the bags. I love taking it on group rides. When the weight weenies see it they freak out. People LOVE that bike.

A tale of two rivies, two large rivies. One is set up as a sport touring bike for pleasure rides. The other is a work horse that I use for commuting.

1. 26 pounds. Custom frame, 65cm. Set up with XTR M900 drive train and hubs. Paul braze-on Racer brakes. Nitto lugged stem and seat post. 48cm Noodles. Schwalbe Marathon Supremes. Mostly as seen here:

2. 41 pounds. Bombadil with parallel top tubes, 60cm. Phil Wood hubs. Suntour XC Pro drive train and brakes. Bosco bullmoose bars. Nitto lugged post. Big Apples. Rear Nitto big rack. Front Platrack with basket. Steel fenders. Double-leg kickstand. Mostly as seen here:

This has been an interesting thread. Thanks to everyone for getting out the scales.

The custom one is my favourite.Think I might have asked you a long time ago what colours yours is, and I think you told me yellow. My 2001 Riv Road is Harvest Gold. In certain light it looks like a dark yellow, other light more of a greeny mustardy colour like curry powder . One day I'll weigh it. One day I may even photograph it, except that it's worthy of the photographic talents of others on this list.

One thing that I've noticed about Rivs, though, is that they seem to ride lighter than the avoirdupois would suggest

I get the 'how much does it weigh?" question a lot from guys riding Cervelos for some reason. My answer is always the same: lift with your knees... My 54cm Hunqapillar is racked and fendered and basketed with a large saddlesack, so it's in the same ballpark as the others here have mentioned, but I don't actually know. When I had my Hillborne, I was killing time before a catching a train at my friend's bike shop. He couldn't help himself, had to weigh it, fully loaded for a tour. 71 pounds of bike and gear. No big deal. :)

I remembered to weight the Fargo last night -- using a hi tek, $8 Deal Extreme digital luggage scale: T handle gauge with nylon strap. Removed the very large Jandd Mountain Wedge (big enough for a change of clothing -- pants and shirt -- if you roll tightly, this in addition to tubes, tools, and Lezyne), so bare nekkid except for 3 bottle cages. 29.5 lb (actually varied between 28 and change and 29.7, but more readings in the mid-29 range).

Riv #3 -- 58 cm c-c 559 wheeled fixie --  newly washed, 3 readings: 22.34, 22.63, 22.7 for average of 22.56 lb with lights, HpX, 2 Irises, and half full medium sized Ruthworks wedge with 2 tubes and various small tools -- surprised me at how light it is.

#2 gofast (57 c-c fixed, one bottle cage) steady at 17.75.

I have two Rivs and weighed them in at normal running weight with tools/bags/pump included.

The first one up is my grey/maroon Hunqapillar - 54cm = 39 lbs
Includes full racks/basket/bag for camping:

1. Tubus Cosmo rear rack
2. Haulin' Colin front rack (custom)
3. large Wald basket
4. Medium Sackville with tools
5. Brooks B17 w/Nitto S83 seatpost
6. XD600 double
7. Thin Gripsters
8. Albastache w/Nitto Dirt Drop 10cm stem
9. Bell, frame pump, 3 bottle cages
10. Sykes wood fenders
11. Velocity Synergy rims
12. Clemente X'plor MSO tires
13. Schmidt 28 Dyno, B&M Cyo IQ light and tailight
14. kickstand

Next up - '09 A. Homer Hilsen - 59cm = 29 lbs

Rando setup:

1. Swift Industries Paloma handlebar bag
2. Honjo hammered 45mm fenders
3. Rene Herse crank
4. Thin Gripsters
5. XS Sackville tool bag with tools
6. Velocity A23s rims
7. Jack Brown Greens
8. Selle Anatomica saddle with Thompson seatpost
9. Nitto Noodle 42cm with Nitto 10cm lugged stem
10. Bell, frame pump, and 3 bottle cages
11. Schmidt dyno hub and Edelux and B&M taillight
13. kickstand

For what it's worth, I also weight the current rando bike, my 57cm Velo Routier (Cycle Toussaint) with a very similar build and size to the Homer, and it came in 1 lb heavier at 30 lbs.  The build differences on the Toussaint are:

1. 650b - Hetre ELs
2. Acorn Tall Boxy Rando bag with tools
3. Speedplay Frog pedals
4. Berthoud 50mm steel fenders
5. Pacenti PL23 rims

Finally got around to this:

48cm Hunqapillar w/ 2.1 smart sams, standard build kit w/ albastache bars, front nitto mini rack, and 2 water bottle cages (without water bottles): 28.4 lbs
55cm Cheviot with standard build kit, shimano dynohub, luxos b light, nitto mini front rack, pletscher rear rack, dyno tail light, water bottle cage, walde medium basket, bell, sks fenders - 38 lbs. 42 lbs with lock and sackville shopsack

Also, for comparison, Gunnar sport with front nitto mini rack, 2x9 shimano 105 drivetrain (brifters), 2 water bottle cages (empty) - 23 lbs

I have to say, i love the cheviot, its new, but hauling a 40 lb bike up and down steps and through a tight storage area that needs me to basically almost lift it up over my head to get out, and then up and down the BART stairs is a huge pain in the ass. I may need to balance it out with some sub 20 lb fixie bike with zero attachments.

Weight! Weight! Weight! Sounds like my (skinny and tall) 13-year-old daughter (alas).

I just weighed my Fargo: just under 33 lb with at-least-3-lb saddlebag and contents; this is the off road equivalent of a 58 cm frame. All bolt on accessories, which for this one amounts to 4 nylon bottle cages and clip on light mounts. (Lights clip on; mounts bolt or strap on.)

Gofast: weighed sans bag: 17.24 lb; the same digital suitcase scale very nicely took off .24 lb since the last time I weighed it and I hope for further reductions. All bolt-on accessories.

Didn't weight the Ram or the commuter, but guess ~25 lb and ~23 lb, no bags but with lights and all bolt on accessories.

Bumping this old thread:

Weighed my 56cm Riv Atlantis (Toyo build, if it matters)

24.6lbs w/ the Mavic Crossmax and RTP tires and no weight-saving parts taken into consideration. I built it up as my gravel/dirt bike. Would be nice to get it lighter but this is good enough. Might try tubeless ;)

I'll play: my stock Joe Appaloosa 55 with R14 top rack, large saddlesack (and various daily items), frame pump, mystery-brand Albatross clones and 29x2.1 Smart Sams weighs in at 36.6 pounds.

That's pretty light for an Atlantis!

Mine:

The '99 Custom 57 c-c: 17.8 lb with "heavy" Dura Ace SPD pedals but no bag -- would be 17.5 lb with the Xpedos, so I lose a couple of average miles p h for style.

Wheels: Sun M14A 559; 70 gram tubes; Elk Pass tires; Phil hubs, rear with 15/17; Revolutions and aluminum nipples
Phil Ti bb with TA Pro 5 Vis single 46
KMC 9 speed chain
Original Tange Rollerball headset
Dura Ace SP 7400 post, original issue Flite
Nitto Tech Deluxe cut down for ti bolt, Compass Maes Parallel 38 cm (not for weight; I like narrow bars)
Single Iris cage
Dura Ace 7400 levers (right to front, left with arm removed) pulling single front caliper -- caliper is either Superbe Pro or similar Dia Compe

The '03 Custom 58 c-c: about 25 lb with ss fenders, dynolights, f and rear racks, HpX, no bag.
Same rims, tires, sp, saddle, bb, crank (but 48)
Original Ultegra headset
14/15 Sapims with black nipples for added speed
M540 pedals
Nitto Pearl with Maes Parallel 38
Surly flip flop/SON 20 R + Edeluxe 1 and some sort of rack mount rear
17/19 Dingle, no freewheel
Berthoud 45 mm fenders
Custom rear and front lowrider ss racks
2 Irises
Dura Ace 7400 brake levers pulling DA EX calipers (these are wonderful with fatter fenders)

Matthews is about 30 lb fully dressed -- rack, dynolight, fenders, Silca Impero, no bag.
Nice but brand unknown seatpost holding up later issue Flite
Phil steel 130 bb, 175 Logic double with BB Bashguard, 42/28
Rear generic Shimano, front SP disc
K-Lite front, some German rack mount rear
Sapims, 32, 14-15 with black nipples on Velocity Blunt SS rims
Furious Freds tubeless
BB7 Roads with Jagwire pulled by generic Shimano aero levers
PowerRatchets pulling SRAM 10 speed chain through Jagwire over 10 mismatched cogs, 13-28
Dura Ace 740? front and rear derailleurs; rear has cartridge bearing Bullseye pulleys, something I didn't know until someone else pointed it out
Logic 9 cm stem holding VO 42 cm Maes Parallel and St Christopher medal (thanks, Deacon)
Custom rear rack; ditto front low riders not mounted
Planet Bike Cascadia fenders, rear a shorty
M540 pedals (I think; double sided Shimano mountain bike pedals, at any rate)

Afraid to weigh the Hon Solo, but guessing it's 24-25 lb sans bag and seatpost rack.
Otherwise stock except for:
TA Pro 5 Vis with 50 t ring
14 t rear cog with 16 t bailout, not yet used
Original issue Flite
MKS GR-9s with Christophes and leather straps with pads and buttons (for speed, of course)
Bar mast extender
Original model Moustache bar
Kojaks, folding
Single Profile cage
8 speed era 105 levers, right pulling OEM caliper, left sans lever proper
Sanyo bb generator with modern plastic headlamp, battery tail light

My Heron Touring (55cm but rides like a 57 or 58) comes in at around 28lb including front and rear racks, fenders, lights, wire-bead 35mm tires, BOB trailer mount, etc.It is a mutt, has been set up a few different ways, and lives in VT, so a build list would be approximate.

My 62cm Hunqapillar weighs between 33 and 36 lbs, depending on rack, wheelset, tires.

Lightest configuration is like this, but with 38mm Compass Barlow Pass tires: https://goo.gl/photos/wcx2zxSLPC8kDdbC6
(Counting the rack and basket, not counting the lock, bags, tools.)
Oh, here's one with the right tires: https://goo.gl/photos/zoafhFJTGJ2Y9Yes8

Heaviest config is with a Nitto 27F rack on the front and 2.35 inch Schwalbe Big One tires. Here's the right rack, but not the right tires:

Oh, and one more picture. Just because I really like it: https://goo.gl/photos/DGV7kM4Cu68TvRkX8
