Hello All,

50cm Rivendell Ram for sale. It is from the stock blue and we are the original owners. It is in brand new condition and was ridden less than 30 miles- grad school, baby, and another on the way means it just never got ridden. Always stored inside. Everything is stock as it came from Rivendell with pink bar tape and interrupter levers added. No pedals or saddle. There is a small discoloration on the cream head tube that is only obvious if you look for it. It came this way and it is just a variation in the paint color. I would like to get $2300 for it and that includes professional packing and shipping. I am in Bismarck, North Dakota and would be willing to drive as far as Fargo for a "local" sale. I figure $2100 for a local sale? Email for pictures or with questions. Will consider any reasonable offers. Would like to see this bike ridden and not sitting in my garage.

Cheers!
Chris

Hello All!

Sorry for the post with no pictures- family visiting and didn't have a chance. I dont know what to say except this is a great opportunity to get a basically brand new complete Ram for less than the price of a Rodeo frame. I need to sell this to fund a new project- a baby!!! I have done some research and think my original price is on the high side (though worth it IMO). How about $1750 or BO shipped CONUS. I will have it professionally packed and shipped. Any questions please let me know. I am in Bismarck, North Dakota if anyone is interested in a local sale. Of course no pedals, saddle, or cages.

 Cheers!
Chris

I'd say that $1,750 for a baby is a pretty good deal. I've got one myself (tho' she turned 12 recently, much to my surprise) and she is definitely worth it, tho' annoying at times.

Since professional packing and shipping will run $150 or so, I'd say $1,600 is a great deal for a great bike. I love mine -- third owner, turned 8 months old (my ownership) this month. Mine fills a peculiar niche role as my sole derailleur road bike (I have two Riv road fixed customs and a Fargo) for longer rides as well as grocery and other errand runs.

What is the build?

Get that saddle tilted right!!!

Thanks Patrick. The bike is stock as it came from Rivendell- a mix of nitto and higer end shimano(ultegra mostly). This bike has 26 inch wheels like small bikes should IMO. The saddle was put on quickly for a short ride and that was it- it wasn't ridden again. Grad school, baby, work, and another new baby on the way changed priorities pretty quickly. There is no way this bike has 30 miles on it and has always been stored in my heated garage. I hope someone buys it, rides it like crazy, and gives it the love it deserves.

I figure $150 for shipping boxing and $1600 for the bike. I think this is a great deal especially considering I know it's history and condition. Calling this bike "used" is a stretch.

Chris, I just HAD to drop a note when I saw you are from ND. I am too, in fact, grew up in Riverdale, which is just 65 mi north of you! I doubt there are many from ND who would recognize the treasure that is a Rivendell, but I wish you the best! I live in Las Vegas now, but I still go home every summer for a month. ND is God's country and the best place on earth!

Hello LeahFoy!

North Dakota is a great place! We have been here about 2.5 years. We moved from Tucson- another great place. Things here are changing very quickly (I am sure you know if you still have family here). There seems to be more and more cyclists on the road here and I have seen TWO Rivendells- besides the three we have. There are a lot of bike lanes here and some good riding. If you are ever in Bis and looking to ride, let me know.

Enjoy Vegas!

Cheers!

Hello,

Quite a few nibbles but no bites. Lowering the price to $1600 shipped. If there are no takers it will either go to the 'bay or hang it from the rafters. A few questions so I thought I would post some more info. The bike belongs to my wife. She is 5'3" and the bike fits her well. It is stock as it came from Rivendell. There are interrupter levers. The bike is 9 speed. The complete spec can be found on the link I posted above. The geometry, stand over height, PBH, etc can be found at the link below. The tires are the ones that came on the bike, Panaracer Paselas 26x1.25. The largest size the bike will take according to Rivendell is 26x1.3 but others have reported here running 1.5s. I can include the pedals- MKS Touring- and the stainless steel water bote cages for free if you need them. The saddle on there is a Womens Fizik Rondine which I can also include free if needed. $1600 professionally boxed and shipped- which is just crazy for a basically new Toyo built Nitto/ Ultegra spec'd Rivendell. Anyone local who would like to come by and see it you are more than welcome. I am in Bismarck, ND.

Chris,

Can you please tell me what the saddle height is in the picture. I'm trying to figure out if this will fit my wife who is 5'1.

Thanks

Hello,

The saddle height is 64cm center of bottom bracket to top of saddle. i measured this late the other night so if it seems off let me mnow and I can remeasurs. The sizing recomendations are available at the link below (pbh, stand over, height). Rivendell says 5'0" to 5'4".

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Chris: The Pasela 1 1/4" is 32 mm. The max size w/o fenders per RBW is 37mm which in a Pasela is 1 1/2". My 52 cm Ram runs on these 1 1/2" Paselas.  Kenda calls its 40 mm tire a 1 1/2" also. I just got a lightly used pair for $10 and intend to see if they'll go on. Depends on what the actual size is after inflation. The fork has more clearance than the brake bridge does. I am sure 38mm will fit, though I know of none made for a 559 wheel size.

Hello,

Ok one last bump and price reduction and then it is time for plan b. $1500 shipped CONUS or $1350 picked up in Bismarck ND. For this price you could ride it for a few years and sell it and get all of your money back!

Please email with any questions.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris --

I think it's absolutely crazy that your bike hasn't sold yet. I would get it in a heartbeat, but am actually just building up a 47cm Saluki frame for myself; I'm around 5'3", and besides not needing another bike (will shortly be getting rid of the 48cm Hillborne frame that was always ridiculously large for me and pretty much never got ridden), know that 50cm would be too large.

Just out of curiosity, though, what's the top-tube length? I may know someone that it could fit and may be interested...

Best,

Liz
