Hello!

My name is Andriy Ermolenko, i am student of Chernihiv National University of Technology (Chernihiv, Ukraine), and i am interested to participate in GSoC'14 making a contribution for your organization.

In ideas list i fond 2 interesting ideas - "Doctors Near Me" and "Easy Treaty - Location Based Disease Treatment", and i propose to combine it into one application. My application will allow patients to search doctors on selected location, and disease treatments on selected location.
Current location can be selected manually, or can be retrieved from the browser, so patient can search doctors/disease treatments not only for his current location, but for any location in the world.
Search results will be displayed on a map (like "markers"), and clicking on click on each marker will retrieve will display info about current location in info bar.
Also we can provide different options for search, like price, maximum distance, etc.

Soon i will make demo application, which will display some data on a map (locations,  providers).

Some words about me:

Last year i also took part in GSoC program, with your organization. My project was "Implementing a faster, node.js-based search".
Idea: link; Project details: link; ready project: github.

So, i have good knowledge of OpenMRS API and database structure. Also i have good knowledge of Google Maps JavaScript API, which also will be useful for implementation of my app.

I have experience of work with such technologies/languages:

Java (Android apps) - currently i am working on Android app for viewing SCP-ECG files (electrocardiograms) (details: SCP-ECG wiki; source: github)
C++ (Qt)
HTML5, JavaScript, Node.JS - currently i make an application for monitoring public transport of the city (used technologies: Node.JS, Google Maps, MongoDB, project link: github
Also worked with MySQL, postgres, php, elasticSearch
OS which i prefer to use: Linux (Kubuntu)

Will wait for you comments for my idea

Andriy -- sounds great. Looking forward to your demo. For your final application, I would add to the features list (as currently this would be a smaller project not taking up the summer).

I would like to request you to provide the database with the specified entities.

Hi Yalavarthi,
In our database we have a handful of pilot users in New Delhi. If you are looking for a large database of many hospitals and their locations, Google Places might be a good place to start (and that is where we will start in our GSoC as well).
