I'm making a presentation at the Boulder REI on May 8 and the Denver Flagship REI on June 19.  Shai Shprung suggested video recording it and putting it on-line. Dan Kehlenbach and I a webinar including Q&A on training and nutrition. The slides and audio are available at :

The REI presentations are broader including self-assessment and planning, equipment choices, riding technique and mental factors and include a book signing of Distance Cycling. Afterwards I'll make the slides available on my website.

I had to cancel my room reservation for Aug 3. Last I checked that
left 1 room available for Aug 3 and 4 at the Hotel Packwood. Anyone
planning to do the SIR summer 300k who still needs a room may want to

Geneva, N.Y. – Riders on the Bon Ton Roulet bicycle tour were mourning
the loss of one of their volunteers on Friday after he was struck and
killed by a car while trying to map out a route for fellow riders.
 
Lt. Eric Heieck said Philip Fountain, 71, was painting lines in the
westbound lanes of Highways 5&20 when he saw a car coming toward him.
The Saratoga County man tried to avoid that car by walking into the
eastbound lanes of the road and was hit.
 
Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene around 5:30 a.m.

relieve pain and promote recovery. A new study indicates that at the
cellular level massage turns off the genes associated with inflammation
(thus relieving pain) and turns on the genes that promote the production of
