Hi there,

I'm hoping someone will be able to advise me. We are trying to install ICA AtoM on a virtual box and have got to step 7 of the instructions (https://www.ica-atom.org/doc/Virtual_appliance) but can not see a link to a system checks page as described. When we go to the correct url for AtoM we just see the standard welcome page and nothing that looks like the screenshot in the instructions.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation,
Jen

Hi Jen,

Do you mean that the application works, and opens on the Home page, but it has skipped the configuration steps? If so, can you log into the system? Did the installer give you the opportunity to input the site title and user name, etc or was that skipped as well?

What is the URL of the Welcome page you land on - and what happens if you input the URL from step 7? ( http://192.168.56.101/install.php/sfInstallPlugin/checkSystem )

Hi Dan,

I was working on this with Jen earlier this afternoon, on her PC. We are trying to get ICA-Atom Virtual appliance (ica-atom-1.3.1-VMDK.tbz) working with Oracle VirtualBox for testing purposes. I have just tried the same on my PC and after logging into the Atom guest O/S with demo/demo, I go to my host O/S browser and visit http://192.168.218.100 and I see:

...
Welcome

This is the default homepage for ICA-AtoM....
...

...
Not Found

The requested URL /install.php/sfInstallPlugin/checkSystem192.168.218.100 was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) Server at 192.168.218.100 Port 80
...

Yes, it seems the configuration steps have been skipped and no we weren't presented with any opportunity to enter site title and user name, etc. We were expecting to see the System checks screen that's included about ¾ of the way down the page at https://www.ica-atom.org/doc/Virtual_appliance.

Thanks for any help,

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the additional details. I will have a developer respond to your question, hopefully with some further suggestions as to how you might resolve this. Out of curiosity - does the site itself work - i mean, can you log in using the default credentials (de...@example.com, pass: demo)?

I will mention as well, in case you are not aware, that we have a 2.0 release available - you can find more information at our new website: https://www.accesstomemory.org

We are in the process of updating our branding (the sofware going forward will be known just as AtoM), as well as completely rewriting all of our documentation (work in progress) to accompany all the exciting changes in AtoM 2.0. Some useful links:
I would strongly suggest that you consider working with AtoM 2.0 if you are interested in testing our software. This is where the bulk of our development efforts will be going in the future - and we have some exciting updates on the horizon for 2.1 and 2.2!

That said, I must confess that we have not yet had an opportunity to finalize a virtual appliance for 2.0 just yet. If it is just for testing on a local machine however, we do have a Vagrant box, which will automate most of the configuration and installation for you - check it out here: https://www.accesstomemory.org/docs/2.0/admin-manual/installation/vagrant/#installation-vagrant

In the meantime, as I mentioned, I will have a developer look at your issue and see if they have any suggestions.

Hi Dan,

Yes I can successfully log in to the site using those credentials.

Thanks for the very useful information regarding AtoM version 2! I will definitely looking into getting this set up using vagrant. It makes total sense for us to test the latest version.

Kind regards,
Jim

Hi Jim,

I remain confused why the configuration steps were skipped in your installation, but if the site is working as expected, this might be one of those "if it ain't broke..." scenarios. If you were setting up a production instance I would propose we continue troubleshooting, but for now, if the purpose is testing, it sounds to me like you have access to what you need?

In any case, I'm glad to hear that you're interested in AtoM 2. Let us know how testing goes using the Vagrant box!
