I sent this to Mathew a few days ago, but forgot to post it here....
I downloaded Forspoken and it did the same spinning thing for me, too.
It sort of recognizes the Quadstick as a controller, but doesn't interpret it correctly without some help.
Here are the options:
- Go into Steam settings, General Controller Settings,
see the Quadstick listed, click on it and click on the Hide Device
button at the bottom of the screen, if it is there. That should stop
the spinning. Play using KB&M.
- Go into the Steam settings and complete the full Generic Controller setup for the Quadstick, which will cure the spinning problem, and play the game with either KB&M or make a controller based configuration for it. A lot of other Steam games will work with that, too.
- Use HIDHide to prevent the game, and Steam, from seeing the controller at all. Play using KB&M.
- Use
HIDHide + QMP 4 + ViGEmBus (Virtual XBox controller emulator) to play
the game using XBox controls and you can skip the mapping of the generic
controller in Steam Settings.
QMP 4 includes HIDHide and ViGEmBus as options.
I didn't realize Steam had improved their controller support.
Some screen shots from setting up the Generic Controller Support:
When loading Forspoken after setting up generic controller support, I started seeing this:
The controller also now works in Portal 2 without any additional setting up.
