I just downloaded this new game on PC called forspoken and every time it loads up the camera just starts spinning around the character. It does this no matter what game I have loaded up on the quad stick. I get the same result unless I unplug the quadstick from the computer. If I close out that game and open up God of war, there is no problem with the same game file. Anyone ever have this problem or know what is happening here?

The camera is spinning, as if you were holding down on the right arrow key on the keyboard

Here's a game file but it does it with all

I remember having a similar problem with a couple games years ago that I can't remember the name of where my character would continually move in one direction. I never did figure out why.

I had something similar happen with World of Warcraft years ago and I was able to open the mouse settings and change the mouse handler from Windows to the game's direct mouse handler.  I can't remember the details.

I started downloading the Forspoken demo and will let you know what I find.

I see the game has full controller support.  Are there any settings to disable the controller inputs?  Maybe the presence of the Quadstick's PS3 controller interface is causing trouble.  HIDHide might be useful to hide the Quadstick's controller from the game.

Since there is full controller support, it might be worth looking to use that.  It is often easier to play with a controller.  Aim assist and easier to remember screen prompts can help.

QMP 4 can emulate an XBox One controller, or USB mode 3 can emulate an XBox 360 controller.  Most games will work with those.

I sent this to Mathew a few days ago, but forgot to post it here....

I downloaded Forspoken and it did the same spinning thing for me, too.

It sort of recognizes the Quadstick as a controller, but doesn't interpret it correctly without some help.

Here are the options:
  • Go into Steam settings, General Controller Settings, see the Quadstick listed, click on it and click on the Hide Device button at the bottom of the screen, if it is there.  That should stop the spinning.  Play using KB&M.
  • Go into the Steam settings and complete the full Generic Controller setup for the Quadstick, which will cure the spinning problem, and play the game with either KB&M or make a controller based configuration for it.  A lot of other Steam games will work with that, too.
  • Use HIDHide to prevent the game, and Steam, from seeing the controller at all.  Play using KB&M.
  • Use HIDHide + QMP 4 + ViGEmBus (Virtual XBox controller emulator) to play the game using XBox controls and you can skip the mapping of the generic controller in Steam Settings.

QMP 4 includes HIDHide and ViGEmBus as options.

I didn't realize Steam had improved their controller support.

Some screen shots from setting up the Generic Controller Support:

When loading Forspoken after setting up generic controller support, I started seeing this:

The controller also now works in Portal 2 without any additional setting up.

See if any of those ideas work for that game, too.
