I just posted an update to the QMP program that will allow a Quadstick running the current firmware (2328) to be used by PC games that are XBox 360 controller compatible, or with Playstation Remote Play.   It incorporates the functionality of the test programs QSX and QS4 into QMP.

Prior to running it, ViGEmBus must be installed.   If you have been using X360CE V4.x, QSX, or QS4, that has already been done.  If you have not been using it, you can install it directly from the author's github repository.

At this point ONLY 64 Bit systems are supported.  32 bit systems will not run it.

This update should work with the Quadstick running in USB emulation modes 0, or 4.   The Quadstick must be connected and in the desired emulation mode prior to starting the program.   If the Quadstick emulation mode is changed after the QSX program starts, the program will need to be restarted.

The EXE is digitally signed, but I would expect SmartScreen to complain about running it until it has "aged" for a while.

First you may see a message like this:

Click on More info, then Run anyway.   Expect it to be slow to start the first time as the Anti-virus software analyzes it.

Bugs found so far:

When starting the program, the factory games list does not load if the first tab is being displayed.  Switching to a different tab and back again will trigger the list to be retrieved.

It's just a stand-alone program.  It doesn't interfere with your regular QMP or the QSX/4 programs, and it uses the same driver vigembus package as QSX/4, so nothing new to install.  Just exit and fire up QSX/4 and you are back in business.

I used QSX and QMP 4.0 with Microsoft's cloud gaming service and it worked fine.   That can really make it attractive for situations where setting up a game console or high performance PC is a problem.  A laptop and a Quadstick and Halo Infinite is ready.

That is not a useful report.  There are no details whatsoever.

Which QMP?  3.09.02 or 4.0?    This is a thread about QMP 4.0 Alpha.  Not QMP 3.09.02.

What game profile (Rule #1:URL)? 

Which of the various ways of downloading a config was attempted? 

What did you see vs what did you expect to see? 

Any error messages?

That was helpful.  I found the problem.  It will be fixed in the next update.  

If you have a serial connection, through the Bluetooth module or a cable, it will work ok now.   

The bluetooth settings would be Device mode: "ssp" and usually Auth mode 2 works best.    Then pair the Quadstick bluetooth module with the PC and QMP will find the serial connection and that button will work correctly.

It seems that i'm doing something wrong... I can't move the axis in the joy.cpl so the controller is unusable in games.

2 Quadsticks 2328 (Driveletter E [Main] and G [as mouse if E is in controllermode])

QMP is not designed to support multiple simultaneously connected quadsticks.  It works with the first one it sees and if there are two or more, you have no idea which one it is connected to.

So, to make your dual quadstick scheme work, put your secondary quadstick into a USB emulation mode that is not 0, 2, or 4 so QMP can't see it while it starts up.  Then switch the emulation back to normal after QMP is started.   USB emulation modes 1 or 3 would hide the quadstick from QMP.

bravo great work as all ways. took me 30 secs to see the quality of life! for those have issues on steam, make sure to enable XB controller support or playstaion controller support through steam big picture mode, depending what you choose to virtual emulate on QMP

Ah ok... so i just nedd to somehow rename the other controller and it should work, right? (Simply changing the mode is not going to work out for me) 

By renaming the drive itself qmp does not find it anymore but i asume it has to be renamed in the joy.cpl aswell... Maybe via regedit?

I don't know if that would be a consistent solution.

The USB interfaces for the game controller and flash drive are independent of each other.  QMP could find the game controller interface for one and the flash drive of the other.  Renaming the flash drive will have no effect on the game controller part.   It could be pure chance which one it sees.

When QMP starts, it searches for the game controller and opens the first one it finds.  Then it does the same thing for the flash drive.  It does not matter what the drive letter is, it will examine every drive until it finds one that is the quadstick.

By temporarily switching one quadstick to a mode that does not show up as a quadstick controller or flash drive, QMP will then find and open the one that is remaining connected.  Then switch the second one back to normal.

Another way to temporarily disconnect the quadstick would be to force it to reboot while starting QMP with the other still connected.

You will need to go through the security gauntlet to get it loaded onto your machine again.   I just checked the prior version and it is still giving download warnings.  

It has the following new features:

Dualshock 4 emulation now should have full motion and touchpad functionality.

Fixed:

Games/Voice lists not updating on startup.
Fixed Enable voice commands over USB.

F1 debug report now requires clicking in the Transcript pane first.

I installed the latest ViGEmBus software version and then downloaded the qmp 4.0.0.1 and i ran the qmp software while the quadstick was connected to a titan two that's connected to my pc but the qmp acted as if the quadstick wasn't connected to my pc and i couldn't see any of the csv spreedsheets loaded in the game files tab, does this not work with a titan two or does the quadstick need to be directly connected to the pc?

The quadstick wasn't connected to the PC if it was connected to the T2.

The titan two is not used with vigembus.  It is Quadstick only.

Vigembus allows QMP to emulate an XBox or DS4 controller for use by PC programs, like remote play, or games that use those controllers.

If you need to press left_bumper & right_bumper simultaneously (in my case left_center_sip_soft delay_on 250) it just activates left_bumper most of the time. Call of Duty Warzone (vanguard spreadsheet)

If you want to plug a Dualshock 4 controller into the back of a quadstick and use it as an input device, that is not affected by what QMP does with the output of the Quadstick later.

You found a good one.  I went through the six stages of debugging in about ten minutes:

I fixed it along with some other minor things I had fixed earlier:

Fixed mouse capture dialog size
Fixed missing icon load
Fixed L1 R1 in PS3 to X360 vigembus

works totaly fine without any additional coding or files. just create a shortcut to the qmp.4.xx.exe in
%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
then it starts minimized with windows without problems (at least in my case)

Okay so today I finally had time to test this thing and i got it to work by following the directions (Pretty Easy). But I am not so familiar with the PS Remote app so correct me if I am wrong can I still press the PS button with the Quadstick or do  I have to use the mouse to select the PS button in the PS Remote app? Because it isn't working for me.

I think you have to use the mouse.  Windows and/or Steam often intercepts the "Home" or "Guide" buttons and I think they went with an alternative instead of documenting how to disable that in those other 3rd party programs.

Good idea.  I'll look into how to do that.  I was surprised how easy it was to "iconify" the program to the tray.

When it's minimized to the tray can you also hide the taskbar icon?

There is "minimized", then there is "iconified", which takes it a step further and just shows an icon in the tray section of the taskbar.  Minimized will show it on the taskbar.  Iconified will shrink it even more to just be an icon.  You can arrange how the task bar handles icons and they can be hidden into a submenu.

OK, I added a right click context menu to the tray icon to restore, minimize, maximize, or exit the window.  Left clicking just restores the window directly.

Bugreport (But i dunno how to reproduce it yet ... awesome right? ^^):

Sometimes (rarely) the "Digital Controller is moving the sticks in different directions then i am... Just for a matter of milliseconds but enough to distract me/to be noticeable and to get me of target. If i'm using DS3 Mode 3 i don't have these issues.

Suggestion/Request:

Is it possible to restore the qmp window by either using the tray icon/menu or restart/reopen the qmp.exe? Sometimes its faster to use the Desktop/start menu icon than open the traymenu and search the qmp icon😅 I'm using Voicemeeter and there it's possible to restore the window by open the exe again.

When you launch a new copy of QMP, the second copy will detect the first one running and send it a message to bring it to the front.  The second copy then exits, so that should work as a restore function.

Try using X360CE 4+ to drive the vigembus software instead of QMP to isolate the pause to QMP.

QMP is written in Python.  My guess would be Python is garbage collecting at an inopportune moment.   I might be able to force garbage collection when the quadstick is idle for a few milliseconds when it would not be noticed.

Minimizing works ok for me.   If another instance of QMP is already running, launching a new instance will restore the previous instance.   Make sure you don't have it running in the background when you launch it.

Reboot if necessary to kill any zombie instance.

1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
2. Start QMP
3. Wait 20 seconds
4. Perform the operation that is giving you trouble.

8. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.

This release:

• should fix the re-minimize issue when minimizing after starting a second copy to restore the first running instance. 
• also fixes a problem for new users who had not run an earlier version of QMP 4 during startup. 
• passes the controller updates from the quadstick USB handler to the virtual game controller handler in a more direct way, which should minimize any memory garbage collection events that can cause a pause.

what about a own button to save/load the own gamefilelist...or maybe even better: a google spreadsheet in wich you could save all spreadsheeturl's so you only need to load the GameFileList on a new system and everthing is there... additionaly qs could always load the newest version at start so its always synchronised ^^ You know what i mean? You can add the  GameFileList one time and the qmp would push every new file you add automaticly in this drive spreadsheet... but im just b-storming right now ^^

I already had the VigemBus, but it's not working and I downloaded the qmp 4.0. I tried to redownload it and got this, help

I don't know what the solution to the ViGEmBus error is.  Look in your installed programs and uninstall and reinstall it.

When QMP starts, it will say "ViGEmBus driver not found" if it does not see the program running.   If an XBox or PS4 virtual controller is enabled in the Misc settings, it will say so, or it will say "Virtual Gamepad disabled" if it sees the vigembus program but no virual controller is enabled.

I have been having great success using the program HidHide in conjunction with the new QMP 4.0, here's an explanation of why this second program is necessary imo: Has anyone in here tried using the new QMP option "Enable Virtual Xbox controller Emulation" on PC only to discover that the game you're playing detects an Xbox controller AND the QS at the same time and it makes the game unplayable, since it's getting multiple button inputs at once? Well sort of like how x360ce (which I prefer not to use) has HID Guardian, there's a newer program called HidHide that makes the QS invisible to everything except a white list (where you add QMP), so far it works great and is way simpler than x360ce. Here's a link to HidHide https://vigem.org/projects/HidHide/ try at your own risk but it seems perfectly safe and works great for me.

Nope doesn't affect mouse + kb. Cuphead double detects, so does Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and there are honestly many more that I've noticed over the years of using x360ce but didn't write them down and don't remember right now.

Cuphead for me is through GOG which doesn't have those options that I know of. The steam options didn't help for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, idk about other games.

I dont know if this still belongs here. With the old QMP after playing somewhile in a different profile it refused to load other files completly and the functions are not correct. After some switching profiles it may worked. After replugging it it may work. After restarting my PC it works again.

With QMP 4 this behavior seems to be gone. But in a mixed profile (kb&m + Xbox Controller) there is sometimes the misbehavior of the xbox controller, in my case it started only to go in the upper left corner. Switching profiles didnt helped, replugging didnt helped only restarting the computer helps.

i was going to play gta v on pc with mixed controls. in freds video i can see how he activates the emulator and the controller shows up. when i do the same nothing shows up. who can help me?

It looks like you have not installed ViGEmBus and are running an out of date version of QMP.

Run that installer and install QMP and ViGEmBus, that should get things working.
