Dear Kim,
many thanks this is exciting! Who will be attending?
@Anja Kovacs? Who else?
I hope this helps to bring more voices joining the statement and the coalition. Please keep the list updated so that we can all support and spread the word over social media and the mailing lists.
+++++++VERY IMPORTANT+++++++
We need to send a report to the IGF secretariat of the work produced by the coalition since December 2016. The report is mandatory and a requirement to keep our status as a DC. I started drafting the report, drawing from your emails and from the texts that you sent.
Could you please add and edit until this Friday 21st, 20h UTC? I am sorry that I am coming so late with this to you.

Additionally: we really need to have a call to start discussing the survey work
(reminder: the survey is an international survey to understand how people accross the world understand how people in all continents understand the public and the private space in the digital era. It one of the tasks we convened on. A small group already declared interest in working on a draft and Gabriella gently developed a few ideas already. Since many of you declared interest only in one of the three specific tasks we assigned ourselves, the working group would first work close and among themselves and report back into the mailinglist when the first draft is ready (to not overburden your inboxes). The draft should be then open for comments to all of you. Of course anyone interested in joining the working group is most welcome. Would that be a suitable way to proceed and ok for you?

All of those interested in participating: please answer this poll until the 4th of August.

We should try to come up with a final first draft by the end of August and work on it until November so that we can kick the survey in December off. What do you think?

Regards,
Lorena

Hi all,

I want to share the final APrIGF 2017 Publicness workshop proposal: http://apps.2017.rigf.asia/submission/proposaldetail?id=132
The WS will be held on July 28, at 11am - 12:30pm.

We are planning to introduce the DC on Publicness and encourage the audience to sign the joint statement.

Hope to see some of you there.

Sincerely,
Kelly Kim

Hi Lorena,

Everything is going well. Oliver's and Open Net's workshop proposals have been merged and here is the merged workshop proposal -  http://apps.2017.rigf.asia/submission/proposaldetail?id=132
We got all our speakers finalized and confirmed, including Asep, and we will have one more speaker from India.
Mark Wallem and K.S. will be co-moderators so it will be good to hear from them as to what we should do to make the session a success.

And of course the more people participate the more successful the session will be. Our session is on 28 July 2017, at 11:00am. https://2017.aprigf.asia/program/agenda/

Kelly Kim

Dear all,
getting all continents together for a call seems to be more complicated than expected -even though the doodle offers different time slots. Hence I suggest to first start the conversation over email

@Kelly: what do we need to do to prepare the session? Are all speakers fixed? Is there anything we can do in advance over all our networks to make aware of the session and get more signatures for the joint letter of concern?

@all: who is attending APrIGF?

@Renata: with regards to LACIGF: what are the concrete steps to have a session mirroring the one at APrIGF? I think many of the Latinamerican members of this list will be attending.

Looking forward to reading from you all, regards,
Lorena

Hi Lorena

LACIGF has a program committee (a MAG)  which decides on all the programme itself
There is a consultation of themes but that is gone already
I'm thinking we could try and articulate via local lists and IGF NRIs list a request for this exchange of ideas with APrIGF

Derechos Digitales is one of the participants of LACIGF MAG via Civil Society (only organizations can be part of the programme committee at LACIGF)

I think to organize a call to discuss this would be good but maybe other folks in the group can help us find ways so I'd open it

Can also be a part of our next call a decision about this

Best

Renata

short reminder to answer the poll for our next call http://doodle.com/poll/924ryt46nahcg9qa

@latinos attending LACIGF would you rather have a call to prepare something for LACIGF?

@Renata is there any possibility to submit a workshop proposal or something the like?

Regards
Lorena

Hi Lorena

Great that you think the collaboration is a good idea.
It also occurred to me the collaboration between APrIGF-LACIGF because
they are on the same dates or consecutive always (this year they are
consecutive)

I've already answered the doodle poll and look forward to the DC call
We have to think about this since LACIGF is a bit more hermetic

Best,

Renata
