Hey,

I read this post where you gave info regarding new cameras' raw files, a subject which never worried me before as I had a 5D Mark IV until a few months ago.

Now, I have a GFX 100SII and it seems that it was added to Libraw in 0.22 PreRC1 on 1 November, 2025. Is it safe to assume that my raw files are therefore not supported yet? Just wanted to confirm since I hadn't noticed anything wrong with the panos that I stitched in the last few months using PTGui 13.2 .

However, I definitely noticed some white balance issues with a recent snowy mountain pano where everything appeared very blue/green (I import raws directly to PTGui since my last discussion with you, no more Lr for panos). Do you think that it's linked to the lack of camera support or rather because of how snow affects camera white balance? It was not really the case with a snowy mountain pano shot with the 5D Mark IV.
In the screenshots, you can see the difference between Lr/Explorer and PTGui.

Compare White balance-4.png

EDIT: While testing to see the differences between my cameras, I feel like I've perhaps answered my own question... The 100SII is clearly affected while the 5D isn't really (although I do notice a slight difference in white balance, it's nowhere near what the 100SII is doing). I'm also noticing large exposure differences, PTGui always being a lot darker (not sure if related since it happens on all shots of all cameras tested). I also looked at shots that I took on a GFX 100S and they also don't change like the 100SII shots do.
I guess I just didn't think that the white balance was a big issue before these snow photos because I try to edit shots to have more contrast/saturation and to be a big greener ? It just did not look right when it came to snow!

Anyways, I'll leave the question for you to see, perhaps you'll have other insights :)

Also, I have other questions about banding (maybe a bit related since I felt like it wasn't as prevalent on previous cameras) and software performance, should I create separate threads for them or can I ask about them here?

Thanks!
Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,

The GFX 100SII is supported in PTGui 13.3, I just tried loading a sample
image and it showed fine with correct white balance.

If you're still using v13.2, could you please update and try again?

If there's still an issue, just make your files available and I'll take
a look.

Note that raw development is a subjective process, so you might see
small differences between how ACR and PTGui develop them. But the
differences should be subtle (not like in your screenshots).

Kind regards,

I see, that'll teach me for not staying up to date! I'll get back to you when I update and run a quick test, Thanks!

Hey, sorry about the delay, didn't have access to my pc...

Anyways, I've tried with 13.3 and have the exact same result. In fact, I decided to try with a few other versions and was surprised to see that I actually preferred the result from 11.32 and 12.18, even though the camera wasn't even released back then haha :)
I also compared a few PTGui versions with 100S images and I definitely think that something is wrong with the 100SII processing.
I understand the raw dev subjective process but this seems way more excessive than with the 100S or 5D mark IV in my opinion. I even find it harder to find a "correct" WB for the 100SII; I ended up using 6576K and 141 tint which just doesn't seem right compared to 5000K and 16 tint in Lr, especially the tint.
And again, I hadn't noticed until I tried with images that had pure white in them, as I thought that my default curve and saturation adjustments were responsible for the slightly more saturated blue/green tint in my other landscape images taken with the 100SII.
Here are screenshots of the tests with the previous PTGui versions and the RAF files for you to try if you want!

Hi Geoffrey,

Indeed, I see the problem. Strangely enough it doesn't show on all 100S2
images.

In any case it seems to be solved in the latest LibRaw, the colors look
correct. This will be included in the upcoming PTGui 13.4.

Kind regards,

Hey!
Just installed it and the white balance seems to be working!!
100S2 test 2.png
4740 temp and 0 tint, seems good to me :)

I was going to comment on the interface issues that I had in French but I noticed this post before sending mine, I'll just use the English version in the meantime

Thanks for the update, I was literally just telling myself that I would still have to wait a few months but still decided to check the forum. A very pleasant surprise!

Best regards,
Geoffrey
