Hi coalition! I'm sending an update today with two awesome events we have on the horizon, and we'd love to have your participation and support.

June 23: Community Science Tree Mapping 11am - 2pm
There is no current documentation of the FDR tree canopy, which is deeply imperiled by the existing Master Plan. Recent legislation has added new protections for our tree canopy and heritage trees in particular, but we need to ensure that there is a public record of the threatened trees.
We'll have a short information session about the importance of tree canopy, learn how to identify tree species, and then spend some time surveying. Please be prepared to work in our wild meadows, so long pants, closed shoes, sunscreen and bug spray are important.
Join us at the meadows picnic area on Saturday July 23rd at 11am to participate in this community science effort!

> > Coalition: help us spread the word! Shareable graphics attached
We can use the support of anyone with tree expertise - arborists, tree tenders, or people with great tree ID skills. We can also use support with data management and GIS. Please reach out if you're one of these folks!
Note: We are working on connections to have food/snacks available for this event.

August 20: BioQuest!
FDR Meadows is a rich ecosystem and habitat to an abundance of species. Migrating birds, heritage trees, and important wetlands all have a home here. How many species do you think we can find in this zone? Let's find out together! Join us on August 20th for a day of family-friendly programs and help us meet our goal of documenting the rich biodiversity of the Meadows.

> > Coalition: We would love to have many of you partner with us on this day, and we imagine a full day agenda of programming, including stuff for the kiddos! Reach out if you have a program you'd like to include in our planning. As we build a schedule of events, it will be shared.
We are looking forward to including some PP4FDR visioning as part of this day.

Many thanks to the planning team on this! They are wonderful and are putting together something really special here.
Hope to see everyone on the 23rd and 20th!

Best,
kat kendon
