Hi All

The attached calculation is about the use of marine cloud brightening to save Arctic ice based on the PIOMAS estimate of the rate of ice loss. This used to be 25 thousand tonnes a second but is actually lower now perhaps because there is less left to melt.   It assumes that the heat inflow from wind and current remains the same.  If AMOC is slowing this may be conservative but there will still be an input from rivers in Siberia.  Does anyone have numbers for any change in this?

Jon-Egil Kristjansson in the second attachment warns about doing it in the winter. This might be a problem for stratospheric sulphur.

If the Alterskjaer-Kritsjansson Aitken-mode cloud-clearing also works in the Arctic winter we might be able to use the idea in the third attachment.
